Well filled – but a bit stingy in sensations -, its 180 hp 4-cylinder first pulls "a short hair" in a segment where the 200 hp bar has become the norm.

So: outdated, the Honda Hypersport? In fact, not that much: its fabulous chassis and magical balance erases many of its flaws, including. And frankly, 180 hp is more than enough to stretch the arms of a lambda biker between two vibrators … and to reach 90 km / h between two radars !
But when the pace really picks up, the elegant Fireblade slows down: despite its additional 20 hp, the new R1 is for example more obvious to take to the limits – those of the pilot, in any case! -, in large part thanks to its advanced electronics and its sharp cycle part. Same observation for the ZX-10R, in order to combine performance and – relative – ease of piloting.
In short, it is high time for Honda to react, especially as the arrival planned for the stuffed electronics and equipped with a 4-legged variable valve estimated at 200 hp further precipitates the aging of the CBR1000RR. !
When the long-awaited Suzuki comes out, the Honda Superbike will receive the sad status of the least efficient and perfected Japanese motorcycle in its category. A shame for the most important manufacturer in the Japanese archipelago, whose history is precisely marked by technical and sporting achievements with its sports motorcycles !
CBR1000RR radicalized? New RFV1000? Both, my captain ?
Even if the sports motorcycle market is at half mast, Honda cannot stand idly by in the face of this situation: its prestigious reputation would suffer. Although expensive to produce, Hypersport motorcycles remain incomparable technological showcases for manufacturers, a concentrate of their know-how and their spirit of innovation..
According to several sources, including the Japanese magazine Young Machine – often well reviewed on local trends – Honda is therefore working on a new motorcycle to succeed the current CBR1000RR.
Logically, this novelty announced for 2017 would be full of "state-of-the-art" electronic equipment (IMU inertial unit, traction and engine brake controls, injection maps, etc.).
The 999.8cc in-line 4-cylinder would see its power climb to 200 hp, perhaps by adopting at the same time a variable admission to keep punch at mid-range. Revised towards performance, the cycle part would adopt "WSBK" inspired peripherals such as a separate cartridge fork, a shock absorber adjustable in all directions and monobloc radial brake calipers.
In short, heavy for a motorcycle on the contrary probably very light: insofar as the current version admits a reasonable 201.2 kg on the scale (200.5 for the SP), the next vintage could be displayed below the threshold. symbolic of the two quintals.
Honda will he take the opportunity to take the step of electronic suspensions, so far mainly adopted by European hypersports (Aprilia RSV4, BMW S1000RR or Ducati Panigale) and on the luxurious "M" version of the R1 2015 ?
Such a technological step forward would undoubtedly be a radical way of asserting its return to the forefront….
Other tracks also suggest that Honda is working in parallel on another project, much more ambitious: a new sport powered by a V4, a variation of the "MotoGP road", but less exclusive.
A more affordable motorcycle than "Marc Marquez’s grinding wheel with turn signals", whose distribution by dropper (around 200 copies worldwide) and the astronomical price (188,000 € without the sport kit at 13,000 €!) Has necessarily left amateurs on their hunger.

Will this RVF1000 also be fitted with a single-sided swingarm in order to bridge the gap to its glorious predecessor, the RVF750 RC45 with a 750 cc V4 engine released in 1994? Will it be marketed in addition to the CBR1000RR with inline 4-cylinder engine, or will it instead replace the Fireblade line? ?
To date, answering these questions precisely is impossible since no "real" image of this RVF1000 or official statement concerning it is available. In other words, this bike may only exist in the imagination of engineers at HRC, the famous Honda competition department. !
