80 km / h on the roads: the FFMC denounces the government’s demagoguery and prepares its mobilization
The French Federation of Angry Bikers (FFMC) welcomes the new 80 km / h limit on the roads as it should: by calling for mobilization against the Prime Minister’s "incantatory and demagogic" statements. Explanations.
Reacting to – which, let us remember, will impose from July 1 on all motorcycles, cars, trucks, coaches and more if affinities of drag yourself dangerously drive peacefully at 80 km / h on the 400,000 km of two-way national and departmental roads without a central separator – the FFMC recommends that Édouard Philippe adopt several other measures if he really wants to "save lives":
- "That he double all the retaining slides that turn a dozen bikers a year into hamburger steak (we’ve been asking for just decades)"
- "That it legislate or regulate so that the recommendations of Cerema (, editor‘s note) on taking motorized two-wheelers into account in the design of road infrastructure are finally made mandatory (we have been asking for this for years)"
- "That the professions of driving teaching be upgraded instead of making them disappear through competition from Internet training (permitted by the Macron Law!)"
- "That it make the freeways free: it is the safest network but also the most expensive!"
- "That he arrange so that the maintenance of the existing road network is not left to the abandonment any more as all noted it for several years"
- "That the" road safety courses "be offered free of charge within 12-24 months after passing the license, or every ten years for all drivers, rather than being compulsory, paying, and only to recover points of permit "
- MNC special file :
"All these avenues for real improvements in road safety in France are within his competence as Prime Minister who repeats that one must have courage. If he has any (courage, Editor’s note!), Let him show it" , gets angry with the association for the defense of bikers.
A new common front ?
"He can not do all that? It would cost too much? Well if he can not or does not want, he should refrain from declaring that he wants to save lives!", Continues the FFMC, stressing that "the associations are already taking care of it and with their own resources! " Edouard Philippe’s statements are "incantatory and demagogic", because "it is not by playing with a mathematical formula that we save lives, but by acting on the training and the quality of the infrastructures".
"The cup is full, the FFMC will mobilize!", Concludes the association to which we sincerely wish not to meet which concerns on the one hand the entire world of motorcycles (bikers, of course, but also manufacturers, the media, distributors, insurers, equipment manufacturers, props manufacturers, etc.) and on the other hand all users such as motorists, truck drivers, coach operators … Eight years ago almost to the day, all the actors of the motorcycle had gathered in one to try to face the motophobia of the authorities !
- MNC of January 14, 2010 :
Because all hope is not lost: if we can regret that the did not foresee any provision directly in favor of the motorcycle, we can also be delighted that it did not take an openly motophobic decision like the port from or …
