80 km / h: the FFMC mobilizes against the government’s refusal of democratic dialogue

Believing that the drop to 80 km / h represents "all that should not be done in terms of road safety" and deploring that the government does not listen to "neither the CNSR, nor the elected officials, nor the people", the Federation French angry motorcyclists (FFMC) is organizing a new weekend of action on April 14 and 15 and recalls that "any measure which does not aim at prevention is not a road safety measure".

"The sole objective of road safety must be to avoid accidents" and in this sense, "we can only share the announced concern of our leaders to save lives", recalls the FFMC before recalling that to achieve this , "we must ensure that accidents are avoided and not possibly reduced their consequences", or "any measure which is not aimed at prevention is not a road safety measure".

However, for almost 40 years, "the FFMC has been proposing, implementing and demonstrating the effectiveness of measures which alone can correct inappropriate behavior and infrastructure faults which are vectors of accidents or the aggravation of their consequences", continues the association.

Not only is the mobilization against this flagship measure of the latter "very strong" – "the most important for years", notes the FFMC -, but the opposition does not come only from bikers (a lot) and motorists (a little) : "many senators, deputies, elected officials, user associations have expressed their refusal of this road safety policy symbolized by the measure of lowering the speed to 80 km / h", notes the association : "the mobilization of the users themselves against these unilaterally decided measures is of an importance which says a lot about the exasperation of the users against this way of considering them as irresponsible!"
