Radars - Jean Chapelon confirms the future removal of radar panels -

Questioned by Site, the secretary general of the National Interministerial Road Safety Observatory confirmed that signs indicating the presence of a fixed speed camera would eventually be removed.. After the legislative elections? Suspense !

Asked by Site on the sidelines of a press breakfast for the presentation of a new awareness campaign on the risks of motorcycles (see below), the secretary general of the National Interministerial Road Safety Observatory at the Ministry of Transport , Jean Chapelon, confirmed to us the deletion "eventually" of the signs indicating the presence of a fixed speed camera (listen to our audio interview opposite).

"It is true that in the long term, we will remove them one day", indicated Jean Chapelon at the microphone of Site, considering that "the learning function has taken place" since the entry into service of the new automatic radars in 2003 (read our).

Considering that automatic radars are not "a car trap", the secretary general estimated that "if we accept the system (speed limits, editor’s note), we do not start to discuss, we respect them and then voila! We will have to get to that ".

The announcement is not yet official, but the trend is there and nothing seems to be able to reverse it … To be continued !
