Road rallies - A crazy rendezvous! -

But what fly has stung the Moto Club de Villecomtal, emeritus organizer of this fine final event of the French Rally Championship, which decided as in 2006 to start the race with the night stage? The report in pictures…

With the drivers overexcited by the unusual nature of this event, the 6th Rallye du Dourdou, the final round of the 2007 French Rally Championship, took place with splendid weather and at a crazy pace. In the end, Emmanuel Siaux won the event while Ze Chevalier had given himself up to a daring bet…

From Thursday evening, once the reconnaissance has been completed with their "framed" schedules (only since the Tuesday preceding the race between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m.) and even before the start of the rally is given (scheduled for Friday at 10 p.m.), the The atmosphere was full of fun in the usually peaceful Villecomtal campsite, placed for the occasion and like every year in the heart of the Dourdou Rally.

An example of the type of activity of pilots once their mounts are at rest? This "Tourist Trophy" style motorized bicycle race, organized "the hard"by the infernal Grolando-Basque knight … Objective: to hit the best time by going around the campsite !

While Serge Nuques had made a reference time of 24 seconds and a few, Nick Ayrton (photo) will drop this time below the 24 s mark! Nick will not make a second pass, however, following a fall in the "camper van turn". But the absolute record will be awarded to Christophe in 22 "and 9 tenths: untouchable !

Night stage: serious matters…

On Friday evening, the pilots line up for the start of the night stage with a single loop of 120 km. Serge Nuques atomizes the competition by scratching the three specials of the course (Pruines, Golhinac and Villecomtal) and is already crowned champion of France "Scratch" of the 2007 Rallies..

Behind, nothing new: Emmanuel Siaux (Buell XB12STT) occupies 2nd place at 22 seconds (in three specials, anyway!), While the third step of the night podium goes to the outgoing champion: Greg Debize on his Aprilia 1000 Tuono

The main championship titles in the different categories are therefore now almost all acquired, with Emmanuel Siaux almost champion of the Topsport category. As for Alain Amblard, he is titled "Mono" champion in KTM 660 SMC.

Laurent Guillet and David Chanal had already honored their Hechard side-car with the title of "Side-car" champion from the Morvan. The absence of David, the passenger, at this Dourdou rally due to sudden paternity, therefore forced Laurent to find another monkey (or monkey!) To compete in the final for fun. He called on Sonia Pefaure, Bruno Marlin’s ex-passenger when he was titled Sidecar champion for the first time. At the time, her name was Sonia Troussard … Which would mean that Michael Pefaure would be Marc troussard’s nephew? A big family, the rally !

But for the Dourdou, it’s Lionel "Yoyo" Prousteau and his passenger Cathy Perrier, on the 1100 GSXR "Motorhino" (alias), who pocketed the first place of the sides.

On the side of the Anciennes, the Martin brothers – Eric (courageous pilot of the rotary Suzuki ER 5) and Luc (BMW 80 GS) – respectively pocket the titles G1 and G2.

In Sport, on the other hand, the suspense was still there … Olivier Aubonnet only had to confirm his lead acquired on the handlebars of his Suzuki 650 SV at this night stage to validate the category title. And indeed, at the cumulative times of the stage, Olivier posted 7’31.815 against 7’38.960 for Michael Pefaure.

Day step: and now we’re going to play !

In accordance with what he had announced after the Rallye du Morvan (read), Serge Nuques kept his word and lined up for the day stage (after agreement of the Rally Commission) at the controls of the Yamaha 350 RDLC of … Gerard Rolland! As for Gege, he naturally rode on Sergeï’s Yamaha 450 WRF: memorable !

The case had nevertheless been carefully prepared: Serge now knows all the little secrets of this pretty machine that Gege revealed to him down to the smallest detail. Because you do not just pilot a machine of this class! "Be careful, it grows !"

Yves Constantin, alias "Satanas", does not fail to stand out either and will try to be part of the trip on the beautiful RDLC…

The results were to be expected: Gege allowed himself to improve his times by more than 15 seconds (2’30.443 with the WR in the Villecomtal special instead of 2’45.970 on the RDLC). For his part, Sergeï only increases them by ten (in the same special: 2’24.079 in RDLC against 2’14.392 on the handlebars of his 450 WR).

In the end, a great total happiness for both! Serge Nuques declares himself happy to have been forced to "put everything and whip the beast to the maximum of its limits", while Gerard admits to being completely satisfied with this perfect machine:"there at least, you can drive very fast without feeling in danger"he tells Site."It sticks to the road this bike, it does not move, it tows madly and it brakes more than necessary … the foot !"

In addition, and as if to demonstrate that nothing is ever decided in advance in rallies, Olivier Aubonnet is at fault from the first lap of the daytime stage! What suits his pursuer, Michael Pefaure, who takes the opportunity to win the cup in the "Sport" category !

Be careful, it stings…

An impeccable race on a superb road course very typical of "rally": gravel, very narrow, bumpy and winding roads, a few short portions of billiards to breathe … A treat! The signage is on the other hand a little light and variable loops between the night course of 120 km and the 140 km in the first lap of the daytime stage caused some course errors that it was difficult to catch up by staying at the regulatory speeds….

Greg Debize and Yves Constantin (Satanas) paid the price by bringing back tickets for speeding … Because the gendarmes were on the road too, it should not be forgotten…

Hope Cup

As for the Espoir Cup, Jerôme Argoud wins the palm and Guillaume Gianinni, 2nd in the cup but first "young", who pockets the free entry to the next Dark Dog Tour offered by Option Organization (read).

As for the scratch podium of this 2007 Dourdou rally, Emmanuel Siaux won ahead of Alain Amblard and Eric demaria (950 KTM).

All classifications and times of all stages:

After this 2007 French Road Rally Championship which ended in a good mood, it’s now time for the Dark Dog Tour! Thank you for your faithful attention to all and see you very soon on the roads of France … Stay connected !
