Road rallies - The rebounding Dourdou -

Everything can definitely happen in rallying and a championship is rarely played two events before the end … Philippe Richelmi, leader of the 2005 vintage, had a hot ass. And for good reason ! Report.

The weather is nice in Villecomtal. Too much besides, because the heat of this blazing sun of Aveyron could cause some small problems on the surface of the stages … But everyone is motivated by this rally, especially the "monos" which will be able to benefit from a new very technical special, very rally, very … "mono" !

Philippe Richelmi is nevertheless quite confident: he has worked well on the reconnaissance and he does not risk much in terms of classification in the championship, his lead over Chevalier Sergeï could allow him a small relaxation in the stage classifications. The mono specialists have everything to gain in Dourdou and Pierre Lemos wants to take the opportunity to try to get closer to the scratch podium of the championship by taking points from Marc Troussard … This rally is also an opportunity for Herve Ricord to finally place his magnificent 510 Husky in the first places of a rally. In short, there will be some action…

There has been action! From the first special at Golinhac, Philippe Richelmi made a mistake. A small fall without gravity for him but which prevents him from setting off again: the cooling system of his Aprilia 1000 RSV is partly torn off.

The best time of this special goes to Serge Nuques … and this is only the beginning, because the Grolandais Chevalier is secretly concocting a festival of scratches! He will thus win all the specials of the daytime event, with extraterrestrial times! The stage was however shortened in terms of the number of specials planned: the 104 km road course was to include two specials (that of Villecomtal and that of Golinhac), but following numerous falls due to melting bitumen, the first special did not take place. will do that in the first round. Golinhac being shaded, its coating will hold the three passages.

So three laps, but the last two with only one special. On his Yamaha R6 from space, the Chevalier Sergeï won with his usual panache this day race in front of the first mono, Olivier Gabillon on Yamaha 450 WR. Too bad for Herve Ricord, who will give himself the second time of this stage with quite remarkable times, but who will take a penalty for having stupidly pointed one minute late at a CH. He thus finds himself classified in third place of the day.

The night stage also had its quota of twists and turns: after the best time in the first special of a truly untouchable Sergei, it was the turn of Emmanuel Siaux (Yamaha 450 WR, ranked 6th in the day stage ), to offer us a one man show !

Before the second special, there is a new twist: the Chevalier Nuques, victim of a lighting failure, abandons the race! Preferring to secure his points, Philippe Richelmi did not take any risks and finished this event in 7th place behind Marc Troussard. The latter, taking advantage of the abandonment of Serge and the "release" of Philippe, will pull a frantic fluff with Gregory Debize for the first place "Top Sport"…

Result of the races: in the day / night aggregate we find Olivier Gabillon winner of the rally ahead of Herve Ricord and Emmanuel Siaux. The first five places are occupied by "mono". We find Marc Troussard in first place in "Top Sport" and Michael Pefaure (11th overall) first in "Sport". The Samuel Gache / David Chanal sidecar crew already sees the title in their pocket by winning first place in their category while it is among the "Classics", where nothing is yet decided, that we find the more beautiful fill between Eric Sarafis, Gerard Rolland and Pierre Godart

In the provisional, Philippe Richelmi remains at the head of the scratch championship ahead of Serge Nuques second and Marc Troussard third. Second place is still open to Marc, but Greg Debize is not far away, just like in "Top Sport" where Marc, back in second place, must now counter a very possible comeback from a supercharged Greg! The competitors will therefore take advantage of the summer, rest their spirits and calmly prepare a "Mounta Cala" which will be decisive on September 11 … Here the Earth, Space is yours !
