Site: Where does this idea for a new motorcycle rally come from, in addition to the Dark Dog Tour, the French rally championship, etc.. ?
Patrick Bournisien, team manager of Xzeos Team : This is an idea that I have had for a little over two years and that has gained ground now … This is a non-championship event that does not compete with DDT ( dates, length, budget). It can be compared to an event in the French Rally Championship, but the Ultimate Rally has its peculiarities that clearly differentiate it. With a commitment of 340 euros and an overall budget of less than 900 euros, the pilot who wants to try can do it without blocking ten days and 4000 euros for a DDT. And if he likes it, he might commit to DDT…

Site: Who is the Ultimate Rally for? ?
Patrick Bournisien : It’s a rally open to everyone, including 125 cc. It is aimed as much at well-known pilots (Fred Lejeune, Willfried Tallone and Benjamin Colliaux have already given their consent) as by beginners wishing to interfere in the world of road rallying and test their abilities before perhaps facing , a Moto Tour that is even more physically and financially demanding. We have quite a few requests from amateurs who want to try. In the same spirit, we are going to offer competitors different types of accommodation, from free camping beds (tents provided) to suites in a castle, including guest rooms at 25 euros per night..

Site: Why did you choose Marcillat-en-Combraille as a central point ?
Patrick Bournisien : I am from Montluçon (20 km from Marcillat) and to set up this organization, I had to rely on people I know locally, efficient and trustworthy. In addition, we were welcomed with open arms by the municipality of Marcillat which does its utmost to help us..

Site: What are the specials on roads and on the circuit? ?
Patrick Bournisien : The road specials will take place around Marcillat (including a magnificent 4.2 km) with one in the Puy-de-Dôme, but I cannot say more for the moment … The circuit will not be Magny-Cours (too expensive, too far from Marcillat and I want to do something different from DDT): it will be La Châtre for this year. The circuit calendars are already full and I didn’t have much choice for this year. We wanted to do that at Mas-du-Clos, but it is not approved. But in the end, I am not happy with this choice, because La Châtre is a demanding and technical circuit, not too disadvantageous to pure rallymen! To this will be added a "moto kart show" on Friday evening, a bit like it happens on the Spa kart circuit during the BMT, because Marcillat has a magnificent kart circuit..

Site: How many participants do you expect ?
Patrick Bournisien : We have planned a maximum of 150 entries, so that makes about 40/50 per city, knowing that there will be cities with 30 starters and others with 50. There will be no selection for the 100 first entered.

Each pilot chooses his starting city

One of the peculiarities of the Ultimate Rally is that each driver chooses his starting city, the closest to his home. "We take the principle of the old Monte Carlo auto rallies", specifies the organizer:"pilots from all over France will reach the central city (Marcillat-en-Combraille, in the Allier) by a so-called "concentration" course of about 500 km, respecting an average of 60 km / h".

According to our information, the four starting cities could be located in the regions of Le Mans, Montauban / Cahors, Avignon / Orange and Besançon … To be confirmed !

Once the drivers have regrouped at Marcillat, the classification events begin with a total of six specials on roads and two on the La Châtre circuit (one on the circuit and another on the kart circuit). Three stages are on the program: a 300 km loop on Friday, a 150 km night loop on Friday evening and a 350 km loop on Saturday, with several CH (time control) very short on each of the stages.

As soon as the road specials are known, reconnaissance will be authorized. On the other hand, the road book of the concentration course and the stages will only be issued on Thursday evening, after the technical and administrative checks. The route will therefore be completely unknown to the competitors, with the exception of the stages. In addition, GPS and other Tripy are strictly prohibited and there will be "no signage", warns the organizer !

The preparation of the machines (Modern, Classic, 125cc, scooters, and sidecars) must be minimal and several classifications will be carried out (Beginners, Veterans, by team categories, etc.).
