Patrick Bournisien, organizer of the Ultimate Rally, took advantage of the JPMS 2009 this weekend in Lyon to unveil the characteristics of this new motorcycle rally. Spirit of the race, locations and details of this first edition.

The organizer of the Ultimate Rally 2009 unveiled just before Christmas (read), Patrick Bournisien (Xzeos Team, Sport Motorbike), has just revealed more details about this new motorcycle rally which will take place on June 26 and 27.

The program is short (48 hours), condensed (1300 km) and sporty (nine specials including two on circuits): a truly innovative type of event with four starting cities in the four corners of France:

  • Le Mans Circuit (72)

  • Ornans – Besançon (25)

  • Marsac-sur-l’Isle – Perigueux (24)

  • Montfavet – Avignon (84)

The full program

Thursday 25 June

  • 2 p.m. – 8 p.m.: administrative and technical checks in each departure city

Friday June 26

  • Midnight: departure from each city of departure for the concentration course (approximately 500 km, i.e. approximately 10 hours of driving)

  • Around 04:00 am: assistance point A for the first driver to arrive

  • 09:00 am: arrival in Marcillat-en-Combraille (concentration point)

  • 11:00 am: start of the first stage (300 km loop, one special on the circuit and one special on the kart circuit)

  • 6:00 p.m .: arrival of the first stage

  • 9:00 p.m .: start of the second stage (150 km night loop with a special)

  • Midnight: arrival of the second stage

Saturday June 27

  • 9:00 am: start of the third stage (350 km loop with four specials)

  • 4:00 p.m .: arrival of the third stage and end of the event

  • Evening: Prize giving and Rally Festival !

Departures will be given at midnight precisely from each of these four cities (around fifty pilots per city) for a 560 km connection to the central point of the event: Marcillat-en-Combrailles (03).

These connecting routes, whose roadbooks will only be revealed the day before departure, are compulsory: without signs or GPS or other Tripy, they are littered with passage controls and mainly use small secondary roads. Arrival in Marcillat is scheduled from 9:00 a.m..

Reconnaissance is authorized until June 19 for the road specials and until June 25 for the circuits. The organization must nevertheless be warned so that it can warn the municipalities concerned of the presence of the pilots on recce … Five of the nine specials on roads are located less than 15 km from Marcillat, the heart of this rally which skilfully associates the spirit of concentration to that of competition.

Success seems already guaranteed for this extraordinary event which has already registered 174 registrations for a maximum of 180.

Several road rally specialists such as Wilfried Tallone, Mickael Pefaure, Patrick Curtat and many others responded, as did some fifty novice drivers wishing to discover this discipline, because "the Ultimate Rally is accessible to all". The first 100 registrants were able to choose their starting city, but the following ones are automatically distributed over the four starting points..
