Road rallies - Beaujolais rally: Bruno Langlois like at home! - Prologue and night stage

Corsican rider Bruno Langlois won the 45th Beaujolais Rally riding a KTM 690 SM while Julien Toniutti, the Site rider, however favorite, only reached the second step of the podium but climbed to the provisional. Report.

Prologue and night stage

Thanks to my assistance, my is ready to take the night start, equipped with two nice little round xenon lights! I still have to score a few points if I want to stay in Elite (top 20 in the championship) !

This time the road is dry, the lap times will go down! Julien Toniutti had the best times of the only special of this first short loop, the Col de Saint-Bonnet, in 2’26.36. Nicolas Derrien, leader in the provisional classification of the championship in his BMW F 800 R, follows him by nearly three seconds in 2’29.89, and Bruno Langlois obtains the third time in 2’30.52.

We then leave for the great night loop. At the Col du Chêne Julien Toniutti did it again and took the best time in 1’02.79 with more than seven tenths ahead of Daniel Blanchon (Honda 500 Hornet). Nicolas Derrien (BMW F 800 R) follows a full second behind Daniel.

For the last special of this 45th Beaujolais rally, the Col de Saint-Bonnet, it started to rain again and the road quickly got wet again….

As if to sign a victory, Bruno Langlois put the package and obtains the best time on the handlebars of his KTM 690 in 2’43.06 in front of Nicolas Derrien (BMW F 800 R) in 2’46.55 and Nicolas "Crazy" Pautet of the Team Site on the handlebars from there in 2’49.35.

Nico Derrien and Julien Toniutti, the first two of the provisional in the championship, follow like two friends at 5 hundredths from each other in fourth and fifth positions. Julien will regret having "given back his hand" a little too much in this last timed special: "I had miscalculated the cumulative times, I thought I was more ahead of Bruno and I should have put a little more gas in the last. The rally victory is played in just over two seconds"will he let go as soon as he arrives in Blace.

For some things were a little more complicated, as for Benjamin Garniaux at the controls of his Aprilia 1000 Tuono which crashed heavily in the last special. Verdict: big sprained ankle and a slight fracture of the malleolus to be confirmed … Without his airbag vest, it could have been worse !
