Road rallies - French Rally Championship: Schiltz wins at Dourdou -

During this sixteenth edition of the Dourdou rally in Villecomtal (12), the fourth round of the six in the 2019 championship, Bruno Schiltz confirms his superiority with a second consecutive victory on the handlebars of his Aprilia 1100 Tuono, after that obtained at the Beaujolais rally.

The second half of the 2019 French rally championship is now underway and even if it has to resist the attacks of successful competitors like Luc Breban (KTM 790 Duke) or Fabien Assemat (Yamaha R1), Bruno Schiltz is definitely making his mark as leader and favorite for the Elite SW Motech 2019 title.

"With two events from the end of the championship, I have more than 42 points in advance", rejoices the pilot of the Aprilia 1100 Tuono n ° 2 who won this weekend at Villecomtal (12) six of the eight specials disputed (two were canceled due to tar patches melting in the sun). Congratulations also to Emmanuel Gonzales (KTM 690 Duke R) who finished the rally in fourth position, first in the Rallye 2 category.

In the Maxi Rallye category, behind Bruno Schiltz who is further widening his lead in the championship and Fabien Assemat (winner of a special), we find Damien Lauret (BMW S1000R) in third place. We should also mention the fall at the end of the rally of Paul-François Felicelli (Suzuki 1000 GSXS), great leader of the category, while he was fighting for the podium..

The regional of the stage Frederic Galtier (KTM 790 Duke), 5th scratch, wins the Challenge des Aveyronnais and ranks second in Rallye 1 behind Luc Breban (author of a scratch in special and winner of stage 1) and ahead of Maxime David (Kawasaki ZX6R).

In Rally 2, Emmanuel Gonzalez is ahead of the KTM 690 Duke R of Benoît Nimis and the Husqvarna 701 of Tanguy Brebion. Matthias Courtaud (Honda 500 CB) dominates Raphaël Groland (Honda 500 CB) and Florent Routhier (Husqvarna 350). He therefore won the Rallye 3 category and finished in a magnificent 14th place in the scratch.

Another astonishing performance: that of Kevin Cheyland (12th overall) who won the Classics category ahead of Johan Daval (Honda 900 CBR) and Richard Pigeat (Ducati 900 SS). Thierry Coudurier (Yamaha 350 RDLC) signs the best performance in Oldies ahead of Eric Martin (Suzuki GS 750) and Gabriel Fougeras (BMW 650).

Finally, sidecar drivers Raphaël Galvani and Laurent Bresse (Choda ZX12R) return to the fore in the Iniside sidecar category. They are ahead of Benoît Bertomieu and Gaëtan Reynes (Suzuki 1300 GSXR), then Kevin and Julie Ribes (Choda 1300 GSXR). Difficult end of the rally for Severine Guglielmi and Geoffroy Guimont, victims of a crash on their Honda 900 CBR / DJ after an exemplary run since the start of the championship !

Double blow for Sonia Barbot and Laureen Maunier who won, on their Triumph 675 Daytona, both the Women and Duo categories. Finally in Veteran, it was Christophe Overney (Husqvarna 510) who was the fastest while the first Hope Charlie Coulanges took a superb 8th place in the scratch on his Yamaha MT07.

Congratulations to MC Villecomtal for this great edition of Dourdou! It is now the summer break for the championship events: resumed on September 7 and 8 with the penultimate round of the championship, the Rallye des Coteaux à Mauves (07). Stay connected !
