Hot, the Morvan rally! The blazing sun reigned all weekend on this magnificent rally "the hard way" organized by Racing Mob Creusotin, which saw Philippe Richelmi triumph in front of Marc Troussard and Alain Amblard. Report.

Chaud, the 2nd South Morvan Rally ! The blazing sun reigned all weekend on this magnificent rally "the hard way" organized by the Moto Club Creusotin (helped by their neighbor, the Moto Club Dardon Gueugnon). Philippe Richelmi wins ahead of Marc Troussard and Alain Amblard. Report.

Saturday May 28 at 7:00 am, in front of the Creusot sports hall, technical controls have already started. This is the third round of the championship and the absence of our favorite knight, gone to tease the 300 per hour on the Isle of Man for his first Tourist Trophy (read and), made the good deal of the leaders of the provisional: Philippe Richelmi must be able to pocket big points as well as Marc Troussard and Patrick Curtat. Marc Granie is also at TT, there are points to take !

But it was without counting on the presence of the local of the stage: Manoel Delaval, arrived at the last minute, came to win HIS rally with a 1000 CBR-R! And it almost! Mano will take five of the six day specials and it is Richelmi, second fastest in these five specials, who will scratch the 6th !

The two stages were good, rather quick, but were not the only ones to decide the classification because the Rallye du Morvan is a selective rally and the road course played an important role. The average imposed at 60km / h did not allow tourism on very technical and often gravel roads … A CH of 11 minutes was even rather tight and many paid the price by taking penalties! All over a long loop of 105 km to be done three times during the day and twice at night … An old-fashioned rally, the hard way! What a real rally, hats off to Moto Club Creusotin !

33 degrees, blazing sun: the bitumen melts, melts … and slides! But Mano manages to avoid the fault during this day and wins the event! It is the total upheaval in the rankings. Another local, Gregory Debize, offers himself with his 750 GSXR from 2000 almost every third time and takes third place in the day race.

What about at night? Positive point for everyone, tonight the sun will not be there to melt the multiple patches of shiny tar scattered on the stages: it could run very hard…

Richelmi sticks to his big points. Marc Troussard is a little disappointed with his ranking of the day (8th), mainly due to stress: "I put the pressure on myself, everyone saw me as a favorite because of Sergei’s absence! I was too stressed, like in the 90s when I was competing for the title with Loustalot … I really got 10 years younger with this bike, at all levels! But tonight I’m going to recover because I cleaned my head". Translation : "I’m going to put on big gas tonight !"Delaval signs the scratch of the first night special, just ahead of Richelmi but enough to confirm his intention to win the rally…

The third time goes to Alain Amblard on an old 600 XR from another age! Because who says "old fashioned rally" also says … "old school rally"! Disappeared from rallies since 1993, Amblard was then one of the big names in the championship. He returns this year and goes back over the tests to the level he had 12 years ago! Marcus will therefore only be satisfied with the 4th time of this first night special, important for the classification of the stage because of the events that followed….

Indeed, Gregory Debize, motivated by his day ranking, had every intention of "to make a box"at night … In fact it’s a rag he made from his good old Geisix, following a break in the shock absorber in a curve, fortunately not too fast (Gregory will just hurt his wrist a little Ditto for Delaval, thirsty for scratch, who puts a little too much in the second special and gets out in the first corners !

"It was the clutch that distracted me, the lever did anything from the start! On the first big left I was distracted, I thought more about the tight right that followed and when I saw it it was too late !", he explains.

Fortunately, he got out without a scratch, but by wanting to finish the special he sowed oil all along the trajectory because the CBR crankcase had a scratch! Manoel Delaval therefore abandons the rally at the stop point of this second special..

On the second lap, when the first numbers arrived, the clerk of the course decided to cancel this oily special: "not enough absorbent for the whole stage"… It is therefore on the only remaining special that the classification of the night will be done. It is Philippe Richelmi who pocketed the scratch of this last night time lap while Marc Troussard finished the rally on three cylinders due to a problem with the electronic management of the injection of his FZ6, but still managed to finish in 4th place in the night stage.

The podium of the rally is therefore completely transformed compared to the day: a mono who also drove fast, Herve Ricord, gets lost on the road by taking the wrong road at a crossroads and takes a 2-minute penalty: the CH were not wide enough to allow this kind of error! In the Sport category too, things are moving: Mickael Pefaure, largely in the lead during the day, takes 10 minutes of penalty following a puncture: the good deal for Daniel Dunaud who takes first place in the category.

In the end: Manoel Delaval and Greg Debize fell and Herve Ricord got lost, but Philippe Richelmi took first place ahead of Marc Troussard and Alain Amblard! An old-fashioned rally, therefore, with a podium of forty years old !

Following an accounting error due to difficult handling of the transponders (laughs!), The provisional classification of the championship is not yet official. Philippe Richelmi should nevertheless strengthen his lead as the leader of the championship in front of Marc Troussard who passes second. As for the knight Serge Nuques, he should find himself third.

See you at Velay on June 18 and 19 !
