The two Tunisian riders Sami Khechine (Honda CBR 1000 R n ° 46) and Bessem Techini (Yamaha 660 XTX n ° 245), accompanied by their "godfather" Khaled Essafi, president of the road racing commission at the Tunisian Motorcycling Federation (FTM), did not come completely by chance on the Dark Dog Moto Tour 2013: they represented Tunisia during the rally and came to "take the temperature" of the event…

1800 km between Tunis and Tabarka

The two pilots, subsidized by the Tunisian Ministry of Sports, finished the rally not without some "gardening" and time penalties, but delighted by the understanding with the French pilots and the general atmosphere of the discipline of road rallies. !

Officially unveiled on Saturday in Toulon on the sidelines of the DDMT, the Tunisian Moto Tour was presented by Marc Fontan (director of the Dark Dog Moto Tour) and Sam Thomas (president of Option Sports Events), in the presence of a Tunisian delegation made up of the president and the director of the FTM, Nejib Lejmi and Mongi Boughdiri, as well as the chief of staff at the sports ministry, Abel Zbardini.

Thursday May 1, 2014 – Boarding and verifications Embarkation in Marseille for a 24 hour crossing. Administrative and technical checks will be carried out on board. Friday May 2, 2014 – 1st stage Disembarkation at the port of La Goulette, Tunis. Installation of the paddock and the village at the El Menzah Olympic stadium in Tunis. Start of the first stage Tunis / Tunis, with a first special on the Belvedère circuit. Saturday May 3 – 2nd stage Second loop Tunis / Tunis with three specials this time. Sunday May 4 – 3rd stage Tunis / Tabarka marathon stage with three specials. Monday May 5 – fourth stage Tabarka / Tunis stage with three stages. Tuesday May 6 Boarding at the port of La Goulette in Tunis, direction Marseille.

The Tunisian Moto Tour, sponsored in particular by the Tunisian National Tourist Office and supported by the FTM and the FFM, should benefit from the reception of Tunisians in a "rally" atmosphere of the most exotic.

80 pilots maximum

Scheduled from May 1 to 6, 2014, the Tunisian Moto Tour will be contested over four days of racing between Tunis and Tabarka. That is to say four stages – including a "marathon" from Tunis to Tabarka – for a total course of approximately 1800 km, with ten specials including one in town on the Belvedère circuit, in Tunis.

This first edition of the Tunisian Moto Tour will remain modest in terms of the number of entries, with a maximum of 80 riders. The price of the entry is not yet fixed precisely, but it should be "less than 1000 euros all inclusive" (round trip crossing, accommodation in luxury hotels and restaurants).

As for the pilots, Mathieu Ginès has already reserved his registration and Denis Bouan would be tempted by the adventure … Site will naturally align its pilot special envoy Marc Troussard to make you experience the adventure from the inside, while the pilots of Team MNC Julien Toniutti and Maxime Mettra are also tempted by the experience … To be continued on MNC: stay connected !
