It was a superb rally which ended yesterday, in the good humor that has characterized it from the start, with another victory on Serge Nuques’ record and unforgettable memories to take home. Bravo to Patrick Bournisien for this extraordinary race !

It was a superb rally which ended yesterday, in the good humor that has characterized it from the start, with another victory on Serge Nuques’ palmares and unforgettable memories to take home. Bravo to Patrick Bournisien for this extraordinary race !

The last day also deserves to be included in the chapter of good memories of this first Tunisia Rally Tour: a short loop of about sixty kilometers on the Kerennah Islands, with its fast special – with doubtful grip! – of 4.5 km and its original passage control, lurking in a dead end at the edge of the beach, that no less than nine pilots have never seen…

We will also remember the picturesque ferry crossing between Kerkennah and Sfax, and the ubiquitous hospitality of Tunisians…

The second special of the day and the last of this TRT is decisive for some: it has a super slippery surface and the ease would require that everyone is content to ensure, but it can also change some classifications…

For my part, followed by Alain Fratini’s Aprilia Tuono V4, I had no interest in falling asleep on my three seconds ahead of him … But without taking any ill-considered risks I obtained the 4th time only 8 tenths behind him … it’s done: my Yamaha 1200 Super Tenere is on the Multicylinder podium !

Michel Geille did not have time to take any risks either: he lost the front in one of the first corners of this "ice-oily" special and fell on the handlebars of his KTM 990 SMR: Broken collarbone, a hundred kilometers from the finish of the rally…

In short, the Tunisia Rally Tour is truly an exceptional race. To do or to do again next year for those who want to escape and adventure, while participating in a real competition, alongside great riders in a very appreciable biker spirit and constant mutual assistance in a good mood permed.

This Thursday evening, during the final awards ceremony, Patrick Bournisien, supported by his faithful teammate Kais Chaibi (Lov-Tunisia), thanked on behalf of Mythic Events, his organizing company, all those who made it possible for the first Tunisia Rally Tour to take place in the best conditions and at the same time announces the next organization planned by Mythic Events: the Mythic Rally which will cross Spain and Morocco at the end of April / beginning of May 2013.

As for the podiums, the winner of the rally is therefore unsurprisingly the Chevalier du Groland, Serge Nuques on Yamaha 450 WRF, followed by Vincent Philippe on Suzuki 450 RMX R and his "follower" Dominique Mougey on Suzuki 650 Vstrom.

In Multicylinders, Dominique Mougey takes first place ahead of Clermontois David Di-Nitto second on Suzuki 750 GSRX and Marc "Myself" Troussard third on Yamaha 1200 Super Tenere.

Serge Nuques and Vincent Philippe are of course first and second respectively in Single Cylinder, followed by Karine Slitz on KTM 690 SMR.

Bravo to Ludovic Salvatori who classifies his KTM 125 Duke in ninth position in the scratch classification !

On the Women’s side, the two newcomers are rewarded: Karine Slitz of course who wins the category and receives her cup from the hands of Cyril Neveu himself, and Catherine Brutout for her willingness to take her Aprilia Pegaso to the end of the trip and her good mood.

To be continued next year on MNC: stay tuned !
