Today is the south of the south! A desert stage under a blazing sun which did not prevent the invincible Grolandais knight from pocketing a new victory. But it also heats up for the Multicylinder podium with a tight fight for third place…

Matmata, 8 am: departure for a stage of nearly 350 km. The Tunisian-Grolando-Basque Prince / Knight goes to the front! The connecting route is magnificent, under an omnipresent blazing sun, with small roads that cross the desert. It almost feels like the Dakar

Two and a half hours of connection of this style lead us to the first special, Oued el Khil, for 4.6 km of fast course with a rather slippery surface. Everyone takes a slice of seconds more from Sergei on his Yamaha 450 WRF! It becomes painful…

And behind it gets angry: David Di-Nitto on Suzuki 750 GSX-R obtains the 3rd fastest time more than 7 seconds behind Serge Nuques but the three "Multicylinders" Dominique Mougey (Suzuki 650 Vstrom), Alain Fratini (Aprilia Tuono V4) and Marc "Myself" Troussard (Yamaha 1200 Super Tenere) fight for less than two seconds !

This special must be done twice, with a small loop of around fifty km between the two passages. But back to the Oued el Khil special, we have to be patient because a Tunisian rider fell during his first visit: Mohamed Rais, president of the Bardo Bikers motorcycle club and team manager of the Tunisian team riding a Triumph Speed Triple , got off the road. He comes out with a fractured collarbone, but given the place of the fall it could have been much worse…

To make up for lost time, the second round of this special is canceled. We therefore joined the CH lunch break in Chenini in a convoy. Starting from the break, two passages are also planned in the second special of the day, Chenini.

On the first pass, it was this time Vincent Philippe on the handlebars of his Suzuki 450 RMX R who slammed the best time, seven tenths ahead of the infamous Chevalier. David Di Nitto is third ahead of Dominique Mougey (Suzuki Vstrom), fourth and second Multi.

On the second pass, Serge Nuques sets the record straight and sticks more than three seconds to Vincent Philippe … The prince is unbeatable !

Arrived in Tataouine, a magical setting awaits us with party and swimming pool, which does not displease Karine Slitz, star of the female category. Ludovic Salvatori is also happy and there is good reason: he enters the Top 10 of the provisional scratch classification at the controls of his KTM 125 Duke !

For my part, I am also satisfied: for two tenths of a second in total timesp I take third place in the Multicylinder classification (5th scratch) at the controls of my Yamaha 1200 Super Tenere..

Tomorrow, head for the Kerkennah Islands for 400 km of liaison and two specials. To be continued: stay connected !
