After the 40th anniversary of Road Safety and the reinstallation of the National Road Safety Council (read), Armand Jung (PS deputy for Bas-Rhin and president of the CNSR), Herve Mariton (UMP deputy for Drôme and chairman of the group of parliamentary studies Road and road safety) and Frederic Pechenard (prefect and interministerial delegate for road safety) wished that awareness actions be put forward.

This morning at the National Assembly, the 20th parliamentary meetings on road safety thus enabled several road safety players to share their experiences. Because as Armand Jung sums it up, who wants "to reconcile the French with road safety: we do not believe in imposed measures but in debates aimed at convincing, rather than increasing the number of decrees"…

Frederic Pechenard, rider on the Dark Dog Moto Tour !

The interministerial delegate for road safety, Frederic Pechenard, will participate in the last stage of in Toulon (83) on the handlebars of a Yamaha Tmax.

An excellent initiative, both for the interministerial delegate, who takes care of his image with bikers, and for the organizer of the Dark Dog Moto Tour, Option Sport Evenement, which reinforces its character of responsible motorcycle racing and respectful of road safety..

Have a good trip and haveAttention to radar checks on the link routes, Mr. Delegate !

A concern for consensus shared by Herve Mariton, for whom "road safety is a major political issue which can only be sustained over time if we manage to convince. Today’s theme on field experiences therefore seems extremely important to me. precious".

The president of the Mutuelle des Motards and the CNSR two-wheeler Commission, Patrick Jacquot, led the first session devoted to two-wheelers.

4 V to be less vulnerable

Jean-Pierre Rulie (Prevention MAIF) thus presented his campaign to raise awareness among schoolchildren about the risks of motorcycles and scooters entitled "the four Vs of a secure practice": Speed (a 3-minute film with the testimony of a disabled motorcyclist following an accident linked to excessive speed), Vigilance (2-minute film in which a motorcyclist shows a great lack of vigilance), Visibility (sketch of accidents in which the motorist declares not to have seen the biker) and Clothing (about a poorly equipped scooter rider, bare legs, without gloves, etc.).

Respecting this rule of "4 V" therefore makes it possible to be less "V" ulnerable, recalls Jean-Pierre Rulie who noted a few weeks later that the message had remained fairly well in the minds of schoolchildren: only one of the four "V’s" could not be cited but it was replaced by a synonym, while another was cited spontaneously and the other two returned after a brief reminder.

Biker for a day … biker for a day !

Eric Thiollier, General Delegate of the French Federation of Angry Bikers (FFMC), then presented the operation "Biker for a day: discover the road from a different angle", which allows those in charge of roads to better understand the specifics driving a motorcycle or a scooter while riding a two-wheeler (read in particular).

"83 FFMC branches can organize these operations", recalled Eric Thiollier, while "FEMA is also organizing this type of operation in Strasbourg or Brussels with the MEPs".

"The risk is to make those who are already aware," admitted the general delegate of the FFMC, but "we also discuss mobility issues with them and we see more a relative ignorance of two-wheelers than real ill will. We must also take care to go beyond the goodwill generally displayed at the end of the operation, and this type of operation is a good illustration of the civic aspect of our Federation! " (read in particular).

Finally, regarding motorcycle and scooter equipment, Patrick Jacquot confirmed that the CNSR’s two-wheel commission had met the CSIAM and that a proposal would be made at the time of the Paris Motor Show which will bring together manufacturers, importers, insurers and the public authorities to "promote the equipment of motorized two-wheelers, especially the youngest".
