The interfile circulation experiment will officially begin in fall 2015
As planned (read in particular MNC of 11/29/2013: the CNSR recommends experimenting with inter-file traffic), the ascent of lines on motorcycles – a widespread practice in all large cities since traffic is impossible there – will be officially tested "in autumn 2015" in four zones:…
As planned (read in particular), the rise of queues on motorbikes – a widespread practice in all large cities since traffic is impossible there – will be officially tested "in autumn 2015" in four zones: Ile-de-France, Rhône (69), Bouches-du-Rhône (13) and Gironde (33). Contrary to what had been indicated by the CNSR, Besançon (25) therefore no longer seems to be one of the test cities..
At least two years
This experiment should take place until 2017, because "at least two years will be necessary to obtain reliable accident data and decide whether or not to perpetuate this practice", considers Road Safety.
New measuring instruments |
The main innovation of this experiment is the installation on the tracks concerned of "devices making it possible to evaluate various parameters: measurement of the speed of motorcycles and other vehicles, positioning on the roadway and calculation of the inter-distance".
Objective: "to know the evolution of the practice with precision, before and throughout the experiment", specifies the Road Safety while the new Center of studies and expertise on the risks, the environment, the mobility and the development () attached to the Ministry of Transport "launched a market to select such innovative tools". |
As always envisaged (read in particular), this practice will be "officially authorized" only on the ways of motorway character ("highways and roads with at least twice two lanes, without crossing, separated by a solid central earth"), specifies the Road safety, when other vehicles are "at a standstill or at slow speed in congested traffic".
A decree in preparation
A decree is "in preparation" at the Council of State to specify all the rules to be observed for this experiment, but we already know that motorized two-wheelers will have to travel between the two most frequent tracks. to the left of the road, without exceeding 50 km / h.
Those whose vehicles are equipped with them will also be able to "use their fog lights to be better seen", adds Road Safety which does not mention the warnings, however more common on motorcycles and sccoters than the fog lights.
Sensitization
Road Safety will set up, before the start of the experiment, awareness campaigns in the departments concerned to inform drivers of the rules to be observed..
"Thanks to this operation, Road Safety expects an improvement in travel but also a decrease in accidents involving motorized two-wheelers in this type of situation", explains the government body attached to the Ministry of the Interior, which will receive "regular reports drawn up by CEREMA to verify that the results are indeed satisfactory".
