Atlas 650: an entry-level scrambler at Norton in 2019

Started with the exclusive, Norton’s renaissance continued with the ” Superb bike ”. Next year, the British motorcycle brand will take a major turn towards higher volumes thanks to the return of the Atlas 650.
In November, Norton announced the arrival for the end of 2018 of a powered by its future 650 cc twin. But the small but prestigious British manufacturer has just confirmed the information … partially.

A new entry-level motorcycle is well and truly in preparation in the factory based at Donington Castle (England): as proof, Norton has just published on his two final sketches of the machine called Atlas 650 "as a reference at the Scrambler Atlas of 1963 ", amassing in four days 2049" Likes ", 188" Likes ", 88" Wow "… and 241 comments, some very interesting.
For example, a "friend" of the brand expressed his relative disappointment: why not name this machine "Ranger", named after the approved version of the P11 produced 50 years ago by Norton-Villiers? The British officials assure that they are doing their best "to relaunch Norton with good bikes and using the old names when possible. (…) We would like to be as pure as possible, but sometimes we have to be pragmatic. ".
Unveiled in 3D, the all new Norton will be presented "irl" – "in real life", for real! – at the NEC 2018 show in Birmingham (England) which will open on November 17th. The order books will then be open, but the first deliveries will not be made before spring, or even summer 2019.
Asked by another "Faceboukeur" on the price of his next bike, the very responsive "community manager" believes that the price will be "affordable, under £ 10,000 for the entry level". Or about 11,300 euros all the same !
The 650 cc Twin will have to perform well – we are waiting around the corner for this big half of the V4 1200! -, the playful cycle part and the irreproachable finish. Because with this scrambler, Norton will not roll on the beds of basic and cheap Royal Enfields, but rather on those of Ducati, Triumph or Husqvarna…
The decision to invest in the very trendy – and over-exploited segment? – the scrambler is also reacting among Internet users: "sorry Norton, but you should stand out. Be a leader and innovator, not a sheep that follows the herd", openly criticizes a certain Andrew Gee on Facebook…
Again, Norton does not deflate: "Hi Andrew," follow the herd like a sheep "… didn’t you follow our with John McGuiness and Josh Brookes?
