Avinton tackles Euro4 with Pearl GT, Race and Roadster
Avinton, French manufacturer of hand-assembled ” hot ” couture motorcycles, brings his sculptural roadster to Euro4 time thanks to the grafting of the injection on the enormous S&S V-twin of 1647 cc. The new Pearl, available in three versions, also receives a new rear suspension and mandatory ABS in 2017.
Avinton took advantage of the EICMA in Milan (Italy) to unveil the Pearl, its new very high-end roadster assembled by hand in its Sommières plant (30), like the previous ones. This French-style "muscle bike" retains its stocky and minimalist lines, as if a handlebar, a saddle and some peripherals had cleverly been grafted around its engine, a V-twin open at 45 °, a benchmark in the production of customs " muscular ".
Euro4 obliges, this "very big bloc" of 1647 cc air-oil cooled swaps its old Keihin 41 mm flat bushel carburettors against 52 mm injection bodies. The Pearl would gain in flexibility, but also in performance since its torque goes from 168 to 180 Nm, available from 3000 rpm! The power is not to be outdone with 145 hp, to be managed without traction control. With such a short and light motorcycle (197 kg all full facts announced!), The acceleration promises to be demonic !
The French craftsman renews the impressive air intake unit with double valves mounted on its false tank (the real one is under the saddle) and the famous "Vortec" device developed at the time of the Wakans including Cedric Klein, CEO d’Avinton, was a huge fan. Always to meet new standards, the Pearl receives a disconnectable ABS as standard. In parallel, an LCD instrumentation, a starter moved on the air intake and LED lighting are emerging..
The equipment is as luxurious and powerful as ever, like the Marchesini forged aluminum rims and Ohlins suspensions. The opportunity to note that Avinton has lengthened the swingarm and especially redesigned the rear shock absorber, now mounted on a rocker and shifted to the left like the Ducati Panigale. Trim modifications are thus easily conceivable on this Pearl, which also receives a new reinforced buckle now capable of accommodating a passenger. Guaranteed sensations for the guest !
Three versions and a multitude of customizations for the "Perle du Gard"
As in 2016, the Avinton Pearl roadster range is available in three versions: GT, Race and Roadster, which differ mainly in their ergonomics and certain equipment. These motorcycles are assembled to order, practically tailor-made: Avinton offers a multitude of possible customizations via different surface treatments (painting, anodization, machining, etc.) or even mirrors and specific handles..
Prestigious Kineo spoked rims or Rotox carbon models are also available on request, as well as Beringers 4-disc brakes at the front, custom-made upholstery in leather or synthetic and even preparation of the Ohlins fork. . In short, nothing is too good for the "Pearl" of Gard (30), on the condition, however, of being able to pay the price because the entrance ticket is close to 40,000 € !
Knowing that the 80,000 € were familiar to them in their most high-end version (!), The bill can therefore quickly fly off for this 2017 vintage that it is already possible to order on one for a scheduled delivery in "July 2017" !
However, this elitist positioning does not seem to slow down the development of the French company, which has also announced its arrival on the American market: "it’s official, the brand’s launch in the United States is scheduled for the Sema Show 2017 ( an automobile and accessories show organized every year in Las Vegas, editor’s note), with the first Corner Shop Avinton in Colorado ", during the Milan show (Italy).
