Popularized by MotoGP stars Rossi and Marquez in particular, the disciplines of Long-Track, Speedway and Flat-Track have a lot to teach apprentice motorcycle riders. The French Motorcycling Federation (FFM) has just launched a traveling school…

“Decided at the last federal congress in 2015, the Track Racing Commission launched a mobile motorcycle school to allow children to discover the practice of the discipline”, explains the FFM.

Inspired by the structure already existing in speed, the "Long-Track / Speedway / Flat-Track Academie FFM" welcomed this summer its first trainees, aged 6 to 13 and equipped with helmets, boots, glasses and, of course, the motorcycle.

"Supervised by a State Patent", reassures the Federation, "children learn the basics of motorcycle riding as well as the special management of machines during track races" … and very valuable for bikers, including those who shoot each other – and sometimes their mouths … – in Grand Prix !

"Four sessions have already been organized with each time between 12 and 15 participants, most of whom have already planned to repeat the experience", welcomes the FFM. "So, for the moment, nearly 60 young people have gone through school".

According to the organizers of this new academy, one of the strengths of the formula is its price: count 5 € for the first two sessions – "price including insurance, supervision and loan of equipment", guarantees the FFM -, then 35 € the next three if the baby is bitten … or has not bitten the dust too much !

"The approved slopes of Saint-Macaire (33), Morizès (33), La Reole (33), Tayac (33), Artigues de Lussac (33), Lamothe Landerron (33), Marmande (47), Miramont de Guyenne ( 47) and Le Change (24) are likely to host the school on Wednesdays from 2 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. ", warns the FFM, and" according to requests, other motorcycle clubs may also be candidates ".

For more information about the school, to know the schedule and to register your offspring, you can contact Gwenaëlle AMARO at the FFM by or by phone 0149238564.
