Tourist Trophy 2014: Michael Dunlop in a BMW S 1000 RR
BMW has just announced that Michael Dunlop, nephew of Joey and seven-time winner of the Tourist Trophy, will take the start of the 2014 edition of the famous race on the Isle of Man riding an S 1000 RR with the Hawk Racing team , which also competes in the British Superbike (BSB) via Buildbase BMW Motorrad.

A former team driver, the 24-year-old Irish prodigy – who for a while had considered not racing the TT this year – said he was "really delighted to have signed with such a strong and competitive team: the BMW S 1000 RR offers the necessary speed for the Tourist Trophy and with my experience and the support of BMW Motorsport and Hawk Racing, I know we have a winning package ".
"We have been working on this project for a while and I sincerely believe that with Michael, the expertise of BMW Motorad and the BMW S 1000RR, we have put together all the elements we need to be competitive and achieve a good result at Tourist Tropphy, ”said Stuart Hicken, BMW Hawk Racing Team Manager..

BMW Motorrad’s objective is twofold since the 2014 edition will coincide with the 75th anniversary of the victory of, the first foreigner to have won the prestigious race in 1939, riding a BMW 500 cc: "Michael will represent BMW with a good chance to replicate our historic victory of 75 years ago ", hopes Lee Nichols, Group Marketing Director.
