The new R 1250 GS 2019 is expected to develop an output of 136 horsepower instead of 125 for the current version and a torque of 143 Nm instead of 125.

In addition to the increase in displacement (from 1170 to 1250 cc), the queen of sales of maxitrails motorcycles (in France in 2017 and) adopts a variable valve timing system called "ShiftCam" supposed to reduce engine vibrations, improve its efficiency and soften its behavior by adapting the valve opening and closing time regardless of the engine speed: the ShiftCam system reacts to the throttle position to move the camshaft sideways, with two different cam profiles.
