CF Moto launches its first KTM-powered 1250 TR-G roadster

Abandoned by most manufacturers, the road motorcycle is experiencing an unexpected boost from China: after Qianjang and its, it’s CF Moto’s turn to unveil its luxurious 1250 TR-G that is propelled by the big V-twin of its partner KTM ! Presentation.

QJ-Motor Co – owner of Benelli – is not the only Chinese manufacturer to stand out with one during the China International Motorcycle Exhibition (CIMA), which took place from September 19 to 22 in Chongqing: his rival CF Moto returned politeness to him with his new 1250 TR-G !

This unique motorcycle receives all the characteristics of a true top-of-the-range GT: wraparound fairing, electric windshield, suitcases, top-case, regulator, Brembo brakes, heated saddles and grips. Nothing is missing, including the essential driving modes and traction control as well as a huge color screen (12.3 inches!) And an audio system connected to JBL speakers.

This CF Moto 1250 TR-G – more opulent than its competitor Benelli 1200 – is also equipped with LED lighting and mirrors in "automobile" format integrated in its fork crown, which reinforce its obvious inspiration on the reference BMW R1250 RT. Enough to seduce the Chinese administrative markets, which have been testing this novelty since last spring.

An Austrian twin for the biggest Chinese motorcycle !

At the mechanical level, this 1250 TR-G does not do half-measure with its 1279 cc twin cylinder which has earned it the status of the largest displacement motorcycle in the Middle Kingdom! This V-twin develops 140 hp and 120 Nm, also unprecedented performance. Only downside: this fourgue is transmitted to the wheel via a chain and not a cardan shaft: let’s hope it is a !

Another revealing detail: the 1250 TR-G is equipped with electronically controlled suspensions of the WP brand, which belongs to the Pierer-KTM group. CF Moto also unveiled in autumn 2019 an elegant neo-retro roadster, the 700 CL-X, which should also house a "katoche" engine: the parallel twin of the 790 Duke !

Still, this interesting 1250 TR-G road bike is announced for the "first half of 2021" on the Chinese market. MNC is keeping its fingers crossed that its distribution will then extend to Europe and France, via the importer GD France, in order to breathe new life into this segment, abandoned to the profits of maxi-trails.
