Suzuki FIXI Crescent rider Leon Camier suffered a violent high side this morning during the first free practice session in Istanbul, where the 11th round of the Superbike World Championship takes place this weekend, and had to be taken to hospital for a thorough examination of his injuries.

Camier crashed "at high speed at the exit of turn 8, on a dusty track offering very little grip", specifies Suzuki Racing. The British rider, currently 11th at the Superbike world champion, is said to have suffered a broken metatarsal in his right foot and several ankle and leg injuries.

Its possible abandonment naturally remains to be confirmed, once the doctors have given their diagnosis. To be continued on MNC: stay connected !
