Suzuki RM-Z 450 2014

The RM-Z are stars in the United States. Voted best motocross bikes by the American and European press in 2013, the yellow devils are reviewed for 2014. The Hamamatsu factory has finely improved its big motocross machine to maintain the leadership of the MX1 category.

New features :

1. ECM ignition schedule modified to improve starting.
2. New, more aggressive two-tone graphics of the radiator vents and yellow number plate that refines its look.
3. New suspension settings.

The main characteristics of the Suzuki 450 RM-Z 2014:

1. 449 cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 4-valve, dual ACT, injection engine. This engine has been developed to provide phenomenal thrust from the lowest revs !

2. Thanks to the experience of factory machines engaged in Grand Prix, the piston, its axis and the connecting rod are developed with the use of the Finite Element Method (FEM).

3. The piston pin has a Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) surface treatment, to reduce friction and increase its hardness..

4. Lightweight and battery-free electronic fuel injection system with progressive throttle linkage delivers power smoothly and efficiently..

5. The 12-hole injector body delivers air / fuel vaporization for optimal operation.

6. The electrochemically treated aluminum cylinder (SCEM) is designed for durability and lightness and to optimize heat transfer.

7. 5-speed transmission allows precise gear changes.

8. The latest version of the Showa SFF type 2 (Separate Function front Fork), separates the spring and hydraulic functions on each of the arms. The right scabbard contains the two springs, while the left scabbard integrates the entire cartridge to manage damping. This results in reduced friction, increased absorption performance and weight gain..

9. The preload is now adjustable on the fork, which allows for further fine-tuning of the front suspension..

10. The narrow chassis design provides a close driving position, allowing better ergonomics and therefore better control of the machine..

11. The Showa gas cylinder shock absorber fully adjustable in slow and fast compression is also adjustable in rebound and preload.

12. The rear shock absorber, thanks to its suspension link kinematics, offers a wheel travel of 310 mm, allowing maximum traction..

13. Racing-inspired disc brakes and Excel aluminum rims are standard equipment on the RM-Z.

14. The Renthal Fatbar large diameter handlebars are fitted as standard. More rigid, it transmits less vibrations than straight aluminum handlebars.

15. More eye-catching, the two-tone saddle cover, adorned with cross-shaped reliefs on its upper surface, provides additional grip.

16. Two sheets allowing the injection to be adjusted according to the terrain and the weather are included. One enriches while the other impoverishes the air / fuel mixture. They are in addition to the standard cartography mounted on the motorcycle. The pilot can change the injection setting to best suit the driving conditions, simply by connecting a plug.

17. A service cap for the fuel pump and a fuel hose cap are provided to facilitate service when the customer removes the fuel tank. These protections prevent the introduction of debris into the circuit.

18. The muffler body uses conventional bolts, instead of rivets to simplify the replacement of the muffler’s glass wool..

19. The FI Indicator (optional accessory: 36380-28H00) has the function of an hour counter, to indicate the operating time.
