It is not four, but ultimately five French riders (whose turn?) Who will ride in World Supersport 2019: Gaëtan Matern, winner of the Pirelli 600 Trophy, will participate in his first season of the WorldSSP speed world championship on a Kawasaki ZX -6R from the Flembbo Leader team. Presentation.

Gaëtan Matern left the suspense on his next season since his coronation in the Pirelli 600 Trophy, contested on the sidelines of the French Supersport 600 championship. The young Strasbourg – titled on his Kawasaki n ° 14 ahead of Joris Ingiulla and Dylan Mille – raises for MNC the veil over his projects: "I will be a WSSP pilot with the Flembbo team on the European races, with perhaps also Qatar", he confides to the Journal moto du Net !

At 21, Gaëtan Matern opens an important chapter in his young career: a time expected to ride a Supersport 300, here he is propelled into the deep end of world speed, within a World Supersport category which is definitely full of French talents. The new Flembbo pilot is indeed the one with Jules Danilo, Corentin Perolari, Jules Cluzel and Lucas Mahias !

The "rookie" does not land in completely unknown territory since he joins a team with which he made his very first freelance in the Supersport world championship at the end of September during the Magny-Cours round. The young Alsatian qualified 28th on a Ninja radically different from his motorcycle in the French championship..

Although the lights went out, Gaëtan Matern unfortunately did not cross the finish line due to a lack of fuel on the last lap … Infuriating, especially since he was in 24th rank, that is to say four positions gained despite "a motorcycle which was inferior to the engine", he judges.

Fortunately, the value of his performance did not escape the Flembbo Leader team, who appreciated his collaboration with the French so much that he made him sign a contract to start him in 2019. !

A good visibly reciprocal chemistry since the future driver n ° 67 (his new race number) warmly thanked this structure after the Nivernaise event for allowing him "to worry only about my driving and nothing else". We wish them every success for 2019 !
