Jonathan Rea, 1st:
"It is likely that this victory will be the most important of my career so far. I felt that between yesterday and Laguna, we were back to the wall. I started to feel good on the bike again during the warm-up. morning, after making some positive changes. When we saw the rain hit the grid, we had to completely change our settings. Being at the top of the championship, I had a lot to lose … but also a lot to gain ".

“I took a chance and put my head in the handlebars from the start. I felt really good on the bike, and I have to thank my whole team because last night my machine was not in great shape. worked very late, and meticulously, to make sure the bike was perfect. Rewarding them with this result really makes me happy. This victory is for my mechanics who worked so hard, as well as for Pere and Paolo who found me such good settings for the wet ".

Alex de Angelis, 2nd:
"First of all I want to dedicate this result to my family and to Giampiero Sacchi. I could never have achieved it without their help and support. I have just returned from the terrible accident in Motegi which recently hit me and me. my family. But I never gave up, I spent the winter training to get back on the track and I continue with physiotherapy and sports training. Finally, this result is the proof that we have made the right choice: to go from figuration in MotoGP to leading role in World Superbike ".

“It was really difficult to race today in these weather conditions. I think I used all my experience to get to the finish line. At first I used my lines and saw that I could pass a lot of riders. Then I saw Sykes fall in front of me and Savadori looked like he was on the limit. When I saw Lorenzo crash I started to think about how to stay on my wheels. I was then able to manage my pace thanks to the instructions coming from the box. It’s incredible. I must thank everyone for this day, the sponsors, Aprilia and especially Iodaracing ".

Xavi Fores, 3rd:
"I’m really happy! After such a difficult start to the weekend, that’s the best way to wrap it up! I’ve worked hard with my team all season to get to this result! We got so close to several times and finally we did it! This is my very first Superbike podium, and it is for the team too. Today we had several problems but the guys worked so hard and they managed to solve them in a very short time! They really deserved this result. I would like to dedicate this third place to Barni who is not here today for family reasons ".

Leon Camier, 4th:
"I’m both happy and bored because I thought a podium was possible. It was so easy to make mistakes here, and I made a lot of them. It was at the same time the first weekend that I had a bike that could genuinely fight for a podium, so I’m a little frustrated that I didn’t make it. Overall the guys made good progress with the electronics in wet racing condition so I am happy. I am looking forward to the last races of the year. In the warm-up on the dry track we were second and I felt quite comfortable. Hard to say what would have happened if the race went away. was played under the same conditions. I think we could have been very competitive here, but that’s how it is. This track suited us a little more than others, but I can’t wait to join the next ones "

Sylvain Guintoli, 5th:
"It’s good to be back in the Top 5, especially after almost five months without a race. It was also good to be back in competition, quite simply! I really missed not being on the bike. fifth place is a good result for us, but that said, I felt like I was having a lot of trouble getting the heat and the rear tire grip at the start of the race. The bike didn’t give me the feeling that I wanted. I think we missed out on an opportunity because the YZF-R1 was really, really strong under braking, great chassis too. But I was struggling with the traction out of the corners. I have to be happy about my return to the race but I also consider that we should have done a lot better. I did everything I could and missed a lot of times, so we accept this fifth place and we we are planning towards my home race ".

Chaz Davies, 6th:
“The track conditions were tough today. It took a while for me to get up to speed, but the priority was to stay on your wheels. I was happy to finish the race because I hadn’t the best feeling with the front axle. Too bad the weather played against us, but it was the same for everyone. The positive point is that we have maintained good form since the summer practice. If the weather had remained dry, we would have had another chance to win. We will try again at Magny Cours in two weeks with second place in the championship in mind. ".

Tom Sykes, fall:
“I think the error was probably with the rider today as the bike’s tuning was not working well and I think I went over the limit in race one. We need to make a little improvement to the tuning in the dry. , but find a much bigger one in the wet. I know I can win races in the wet. It’s just a matter of finding the right balance and feeling for the rider, which I don’t have at the moment in these conditions. I’m sure we can find it. In motorsport, anything is possible and everything can be turned upside down so quickly. Yesterday I was 26 points off the lead, today I’m 47. The good one The point is that in the last three races, the points gap has narrowed from 71 to 47 points. There are still three events left. ".
