Chaz Davies, 1st:
"I was a bit apprehensive about our first race after such a long break, but everything worked out perfectly today, since the Superpole. The two tests carried out during the summer were crucial, because we found the feeling that was in me. has been lacking for a few races this year. Thanks to my team and Ducati we now have a set that fits me again. I was confident about my pace but honestly I’m surprised by the gap. not impossible to reduce our deficit in the championship, we have seen that everyone can make mistakes, so we will try to win as many races as possible until the end of the season, without worrying too much about the classification "

Tom Sykes, 2nd:
"I have the feeling that we had an acceptable race. It was not perfect of course, but the second position is not so bad. I would like to say a big thank you to Marcel, Danilo and to my side of the garage because I think we did our best in the short time available. We had no baseline data here and we were able to have a good race. "

“We had to experiment with a lot and I think we found an acceptable setting. It wasn’t perfect, because ten seconds behind the leader is a big gap, but I was able to react when my panelist m ‘warned Nicky Hayden was behind me. Tomorrow we have to find a setting that will allow me to do lap times a little easier. I was missing some chord points today and we have to try to correct that. There is a lot of pressure at this point in the season and we have, it seems, created a kind of momentum that we have to keep ".

Nicky Hayden, 3rd:
"It was not an easy day, but it’s a lesson to remember because normally in a race, things never go exactly as you thought. It was really not smart to crash this morning in FP3 (third free practice session, Editor’s note), but the guys did a very good job because with the red flags and the postponements, they had even less time than usual. The bike was ready just in time, but when I got out there was a little cut in the rear brake so I had to come back. In the end I had time to do a warm-up lap, then go from eleventh to third place. I got my best qualification of the year by completing my first lap of the weekend! "

"I got off to a good start in the race, but I was pushed off the line. My bike was really good on the brakes, so I was able to recover a few places. I adopted a good pace and I was able to closing the gap on Tom. I really wanted to beat him because he’s a former champion and because I wanted to give the fans a bit of a show. It was pushing behind as well, so I gave my best- same, but unfortunately I wasn’t close enough to overtake. Congratulations to Chaz, he was a cut above everyone else today. We will try to do even better tomorrow ".

Jordi Torres, 4th:
"We were very close to the podium so it’s a good result. It’s important to have a good run this weekend because BMW is at home. I’m happy with the pace we had in the race. That said, I was missing a bit. confident at the start and want to behave differently tomorrow in the hope of being more competitive. I realize that I should have been more aggressive at the start today, so I will try to take this approach tomorrow . We could also make a little change on the bike to give me a little something extra for the second race. ".

Leon Camier, 5th:
"I’m really happy with the result, it’s really important to finish so close to the podium. I’m sure if we could improve the power we could be a lot stronger. We have made progress and we still need to improve something. in terms of the chassis for tomorrow. But overall I am convinced that we can have another solid race ".

Michael van den Mark, 6th:
"The FP3 session went well: the track was wet and we needed to ride in those conditions because the weather forecast for the race was still uncertain. The track dried out during the Superpole, so I kept an eye out on the first session to see how it was. The track was finally almost totally dry during Superpole 2 and I was improving lap after lap, but unfortunately we ran out of time with the qualifying tire. We certainly didn’t need this error

"I got off to a good start but got stuck in traffic on the first corner. I think I still managed to gain a couple of places. From the first moment I struggled with the grip. back and the problem escalated towards the end of the race, so much so that I couldn’t attack anymore. I managed to pass Giugliano and stay with Torres for many laps, but it was almost impossible to Pass it. In the end, I finish ahead of Davide, which means I’m now fourth in the table. He and Nicky are just a few points away, so we’re going to have to consolidate our game tomorrow. ".

Sylvain Guintoli, 9th:
"It was good to come back to the race. Qualifying didn’t quite go as planned: the track conditions were pretty tricky and I ended up deciding to stay on the track, which was the wrong one. option. I was caught off guard and didn’t have time to come back and put on the qualifying tire that we could have done better with. The race was difficult for me because I couldn’t find the rhythm I had in practice. In the end, being back on the saddle after almost five months of hiatus and finishing close to Alex was a positive first race. The gap is still quite large with the guys in front, we now have to work to improve the feeling and reduce the margin from tomorrow ".

Jonathan Rea, fall:
“It was very disappointing to finish the first race this way. After a tough start to the weekend we had managed pretty well. I got off to a good start and got into the rhythm behind Tom, but the Chaz Davies’ pace led him into another race. I got into a false neutral on lap 10 and tried to get in first before the turn. First gear engaged just before I left the track and I went highside. I was not injured in the accident. It was the first time that my Alpinestars airbag had to be triggered, and I was happy that it was protecting me ".

“Yesterday we didn’t have the pace but we made some changes today. Now we will think about what we need to do to improve the bike a bit further tomorrow. I have to understand what the bike needs now, especially in the acceleration. It’s frustrating to finish the first day of racing like this, but we are still leading the championship, which is important. We will fight again tomorrow ".
