Besides contusions to the thorax and a possible fracture of the left scaphoid diagnosed on the spot, "the last medical examinations carried out in Spain by doctors Turmo and Mir show that the official Ducati Alstare rider also suffers from a fracture of the pelvis which will require an intervention surgical and at least ten weeks of convalescence ", specifies the Bologna team.
So the hopes of Ducati in – and in! – this year: Checa leaves the track in 14th position in the provisional classification, while it remains to be disputed. He will be operated on today by doctor Ribas at the Dexeus clinic in Barcelona..
The reactions of his fellow pilots were quick to burst forth, starting with Loris Baz who wished him "all the best" by stressing that "damn man, what shit this season!" … Just like Chaz Davies and Marco Melandri, Eugene Laverty wishes him "a speedy recovery" after this "horrible fall which looked very painful" .
