This weekend at Magny-Cours is the last World Superbike 2010 event. Crutchlow has just taken pole but Guintoli and Smrz are following him very closely! Biaggi completes the 1st row, ahead of Fabrizio, Rea, Checa and Haga…

This afternoon at Magny-Cours was the last Superpole event of the year. Cal Crutchlow and his R1 took the best time but Sylvain Guintoli and his GSX-R finished just behind, less than 7 hundredths! Hopefully our Frenchie, all dressed in blue-white-red, is doing at least as well tomorrow in couse !

Only 16 thousandths behind Suzuki n ° 50, Jakub Smrz and his Aprilia n ° 96 took 3rd place on the grid with the beard – goat more exactly – of the new Superbike champion, Max Biaggi. What if it was Czech, and not Italian, who brought the title points to Aprilia on Sunday? ?

Until now, Jakub has always struggled to convert his good tries. This final will be the occasion or never! Max for his part will run after a 10th or even an 11th victory this season.

Very fast on Friday, Michel Fabrizio took the lead in 2nd place with a time only 43 thousandths less than his recently crowned compatriot. His teammate Haga will start tomorrow from 8th place. For their last two races, the official Ducatis will be keen to do well.

Especially since the constructors’ championship is not lost against Aprilia! With their 392 points, the Bolognese still have a small chance of winning a 17th title: 41 points separate them from Noalesi. Everything is still possible, it’s about the Mondial SBK !

Between n ° 84 and n ° 41 therefore, two other contenders for victory will set off: Jonathan Rea and Carlos Checa! With Max Biaggi and Cal Crutchlow, his two drivers have already signed a double this season. Could one of them reoffend in France ?…

The battle between Johnny and Carlos will be all the more bitter as they are only temporarily separated by 14 points, to the benefit of the English. But the latter, injured in Imola, will not be 100% of his form to defend his chances. Their results at Magny-Cours therefore still depend on their final position in the general classification of the WSBK 2010: who will be on the 3rd step of the podium? Suspense.

Leon Haslam, on the other hand, has already secured his "title" as vice-world champion. But unlike Jonathan and Carlos – and Max and Cal – he has yet to win two runs in a row in 2010 – nor in his previous three seasons in the WSBK for that matter. The n ° 91 will be able to let go completely tomorrow and try to shine one last time on the handlebars of his Gex.

"To be able" to let go? Duty in truth, because Leon will start from 10th place, just behind his future teammate at BMW, Troy Corser. Behind them, Xaus, Sykes – very fit with his Ninja -, Lanzi and Byrne will also try to stand out before going on vacation … or going in search of a handlebars for next year. ‘is according to…

See you tomorrow to follow, slightly delayed on Site, the very last round of the Superbike world championship at Magny-Cours. Stay connected !
