Jonathan Rea made a small mistake in turn 4 which cost him two places. The – very wide – leader of the championship catches up very quickly, however, and with style: he makes a superb overtaking at the exit of the "famous" Corkscrew, on the outside of Torres !

Davies completed the first lap in the lead, half a second ahead of Sykes and over a second ahead of Rea and Torres. Passed in front of Lowes, Giugliano quickly moved away from the # 22 GSX-R1000 and climbed back into the rear wheel of the # 81 RSV4 at the start of the second lap..

Seventh, Sylvain Guintoli must defend his place dearly against Haslam … Randy de Puniet occupies 14th place, Christophe Ponsson overtakes Barragan to gain 16th place and takes advantage of Ayrton Badovini’s fall to enter the points !

In the 4th lap, "Chazie" has more than a second ahead of Sykes and two seconds over Rea. Torres is harassed by Giugliano but the Italian cannot find the opening. On the contrary, Haslam breaks the lock of Fireblade n ° 1 and steals our dear "Guinters" his sixth place (Lowes having suddenly gone from 6th to 8th place).

While the Panigale n ° 7 chains laps slightly faster than the two factory Kawasaki n ° 66 and 65, the public’s attention is monopolized by the duel between Torres and Giugliano. The Roman pilot may well register his Ducati on different trajectories, he always stumbles on the "Spanish Elvis" and his Aprilia !

Eight seconds behind the leader – one second lost per lap on average – Sylvain Guintoli clings to the other Aprilia Red Devils driven by Leon Haslam. De Puniet is still in 13th place and is aiming for 12th from Ramos but must beware of Camier posted in his aspi … Ponsson is alone in 15th position.

In the 10th lap, Jonathan Rea gets closer to Tom Sykes … Chaz Davies ‘lead reaches almost two seconds and the Kawa’ boys must react! More than six seconds behind the Greens, Giugliano attacks Torres at the entrance to Corkscrew and comes out several steps ahead.

When the halfway mark is crossed, Chaz Davies’ lead exceeds two seconds. Jonathan Rea is faster than Tom Sykes, unleashes several attacks in the 15th lap but holds back, probably considering that the safety margin is insufficient !

More than 15 seconds behind the Ducati installed in the lead since the red lights went out, Guintoli lost a new place: Alex Lowes hoisted his Suzuki n ° 22 to seventh position. The English champion finds himself two seconds behind Leon Haslam and spins a few tenths of a second faster…

With seven laps remaining, victory is clearly promised to Davies. Almost four seconds behind, Jonathan Rea carefully studies all his opportunities and decides to attack under the braking of the 11th and last corner. The n ° 65 passes in front of the n ° 66 but widens and comes out of the turn still third !

Forced to attack until the end to prevent any comeback from Alex Lowes, Leon Haslam loses the front … and big points in the championship! The n ° 91 goes back on his Aprilia in 14th position, seven seconds ahead of Christophe Ponsson and his Kawasaki Pedercini.

Jonathan Rea tries a new attack, this time with the – big – braking of the Andretti hairpin (turn n ° 2) but withdraws again. Unperturbed, Tom Sykes recovers his second place by tackling the next sequence, still pursued by his teammate.

"Chazie" launches the last lap three seconds ahead of the official Kawasaki inseparable. Housed in the wheel of "Major Tom", the ruthless "JR" is ready to take advantage of the slightest gap of his teammate … But the 2013 champion does not crack and precedes the leader of the championship on the finish line !

Chaz Davies wins his second victory of the season, Tom Sykes climbs on his ninth podium and Jonathan Rea records his worst result … Davide Giugliano and Jordi Torres, great leaders of this first round, complete the "Top Five".
