Electrically powered motocrosser from Mugen

Mugen E. Rex

The Japanese Honda tuner Mugen has presented its version of an electrically powered motocrosser. The special thing about it: the chassis and frame come from a conventional Honda CRF 250 R..

S.Instead of the 250cc single cylinder, the one from Mugen "E. Rex" Bike called a battery drive unit that is apparently precisely matched to it. In terms of its dimensions, it corresponds to a combustion engine including an airbox, so it can (theoretically) also be built into other conventional motorcycle frames. The pinion sits in the usual place, even the Honda’s water cooler is used, presumably to prevent the electric drive from getting too hot.

Mugen E. Rex.

The Mugen E.Rex has neither clutch nor gears, so Mugen has placed the rear brake lever on the left handlebar fitting. It is not yet known whether the Japanese, who successfully participated in the TT on the Isle of Man with an electrically powered race bike, want to manufacture the E-Rex in a small series. There is also no performance data for this yet.
