When the RR logo appears on an MV-Agusta, you can already smell a delicate smell of envy and lust. Varese’s creations are not there to amuse but to excite the gallery. And the Brutale 800 does very well in the exercise. How about giving it even more class and increasing the ardor of the 3-cylinder? ?!? Attempted ? Here is something to satisfy you with the Brutale 800 RR.
Two small letters is the start of hostilities. And a much stronger performance for the Tre Pistoni 798 cm3. With 15 hp more on this version, the Brutale sends no less than 140 hp. Already that it was shaking as it should with the 125 thoroughbreds of the standard 800 … The RR will mobilize you the shaft of emotions without restraint.
With this stud, the Brutale only returns 8 hp to its sporty cousin F3 800. How did MV find these canassons? First, by doubling the number of injectors, by increasing the diameter of the intake bodies (from 48 to 50 mm) and by designing a new air box; which required an overhaul of the tank but without affecting either its external shape or its capacity.
There is also a little extra torque. But the maximum values, the pilot will seek them more in the laps. Anyway, you did not choose an MV to take fat with the ladle like on a Harley or a Guzzi Calif … An 800 Brutale RR, it’s Fast & Furious that only waits for a good one. arsouille to shift your brain.
Ah, watts, we all like that. Fortunately, the RR is not only distinguished by its muscular inflation. She took the opportunity to enlist the services of a new all-aluminum Marzocchi inverted fork; full adjustable of course, and 43 mm. Lighter by a kilo, it is also characterized by its “aged gold” anodization and the DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating. A steering damper is also part of the fun. Especially to calm the excess of mood of the front end. Aside from those treats, this RR’s chassis is similar to that of the standard 800 Brutale; therefore difficult to fault. A frame mixing a tubular steel trellis with aluminum plates, a sturdy single-sided arm, 320 mm brake tracks and Bembo 4-piston radial calipers – 1 rear disc of 220 mm with a 2-piston caliper, also Brembo. Note a revised LED taillight, a new saddle, and of course a price increase..
La Brutale is also a face that we never tire of. In RR, the decor is even more delicate and provocative. The rims have changed profile, their 5 branches adding an even more bestial side. And the little engine spoiler is still the little extra that you should find on all brutal 675 and 800.
As the versions of the Brutale progress, MV-Agusta fine-tunes its electronics and Varese’s machines become a little more flexible, slowly approaching finer engine management. This RR should benefit from a finally pleasant right hand / engine connection. Being brutal has its charm; capricious and delicate, that’s another refrain.
As for the radius of the guardrails, the pilot can largely delegate his ardor to the MVICS platform. The pilot ignites the fuse, the torrent of power rushes in and is channeled in multiple ways. Between the choice of 4 injection maps (Sport, Normal, Rain, and personalized), the EAS 2.0 shifter allowing up AND down gears without using the clutch, the traction control can be deactivated at 8 levels, and the Bosch 9+ ABS, which curbs attempts to take off the rear wheel during heavy braking, there is plenty to limit attempts to orbit. Within the limits of physics, of course.
Okay, be careful anyway. Although there is a host of electronic aids, it is better to take a good piloting experience with you. The MV-Agusta 800 Brutale RR is one hell of a cocktail of live explosives and sporty chassis. A clamp that tumbles too hard with this kind of missile will never be caught by the silicon chips. They are there to control the game; not fish yourself out like in Mario Kart. But we would make the same observation with any motorcycle with a high level of sportiness. All the subtlety is there: keep your cool with a machine as enticing as you want and endowed with a heart ready to blow your face if you turn him on too much..
