MV Agusta 800 recall axle clamping

MV Agusta recalls 800 models

Axle clamping can come loose

The Italian motorcycle manufacturer MV Agusta is recalling 252 motorcycles of various three-cylinder series worldwide because the axle clamps on the front axle do not meet the specified specifications.

UUnder certain circumstances, the hole for receiving the axle clamping screws on the fork feet of the affected models may have too much play. As a result, safe axle clamping on the front wheel is not guaranteed, which can lead to indifferent driving behavior and, in the worst case, to a fall.

Replace fork feet if necessary

This recall affects 252 models worldwide from the series Brutale 800, Brutale 800 RC, Brutale 800 RR, Brutale 800 RR America, Brutale 800 RR Pirelli, Dragster RC, Dragster RR, F3 675, F3 800 and RVS # 1, which are between March 12th and April 30th 2018. The corresponding vehicle identification number ranges are: ZCGPJGNU9JV020515 to ZCGPJGNU0JV020516, ZCGGKGNU1JV000448 to ZCGGKGNU1JV000451 and ZCGGKGNU2JV000GN000 to ZCG00.

All owners of the affected machines are called to the workshops with their motorcycles. There, the holes in the fork feet are checked and, if necessary, the fork feet are exchanged for true-to-size specimens. These new fork feet are marked with a green dot next to the hole.

The request as to how many vehicles are affected in Germany has already been deposited with MV Agusta.
