Like Ducati, MV-Agusta maintains a very thin line between its production sports cars and its competition machines. In Schiranna, one of the F4s is only waiting for a few strokes of the screwdriver to switch to the Superbike: the RC. Top of the top of the brand, this sublime machine maintains the fantasy for 2019 with some alterations. Absolute the F4 1000 Reparto Corse?!? Not far anyway.
Cut like a sprinter, sharp, lively whatever the angle, the F4 RC continues to honor the sporting tradition of MV-Agusta. The decoration is always modeled on that of the machine engaged in WSBK, with Jordi Torres during the 2018 season. A small update is appropriate by a reworked decoration by a grip of black and the update of the sponsors. The pride of the brand is awarded the race number: a symbolic 37, the number of world championship titles gleaned by the brand … a long time ago.
The 4-cylinder is a delight for thrill seekers. With 205 horsepower, the Italian block remains among the most powerful mechanical series. One of the specificities of the RC edition is the presence of a kit for more performance. Once installed, the power climbs up to 7 cannons and flaunts in a terrifying 212 horsepower.
All channeled by strong on-board electronics. The pilot can obviously afford a good dose of configuration, especially in User piloting mode, the most customizable of the 4 maps. The ELDOR platform lets you fine-tune the sensitivity of the accelerator (*), engine behavior (*), maximum torque, engine brake level (*), switch (*), 8-level traction control. The other modes, Normal – Sport – Rain, simplify the settings with their own programs. The guardrail battery is optimized in its operation by a multi-axis inertial platform. Shifting gears in a flash is controlled via the EAS 2.0 shifter, active on upshift and downshift.

The F4 is based on its eternal frame mixing aluminum side plates and a tubular trellis in Chrome-Molybdenum steel. Intended for surgical use, it pushes the refinement to offer the height adjustment of the pivot point of the swingarm and high-end suspensions. Superb and very efficient Ohlins, made up of a 43mm NIX 30 inverted fork and a TTX 36 shock absorber; fully adjustable of course. A steering damper is present, also adjustable.
Braking is among the most formidable that one can find. A beautiful Brembo outfit, to crash a jet tank. The 320mm front discs will be gniake by radially mounted monobloc ‘GP’ calipers. The action is controlled by a radial pump and the monitoring of a Bosch 9+ ABS acting on the lift control of the rear wheel. On it, a 210mm disc with a Nissin 4-piston caliper.
The trim of this F4 makes extensive use of carbon. This allows as much to save weight as to play on the high-end aspect of the machine. The RC is proud of its image as much as its plastic, and even allows itself to display two different weights depending on the type of output. In road mode, it charges 183 kilos dry. But once installed the special parts and the desire for the circuit, it goes down to 175 kgs.
And where are the parts? In a beautiful wooden box where a few dozen components are nestled, including the complete SC Project line in titanium, a specific ECU box, lightened screws, other carbon parts, a seat cowl, and other racing elements.
A protective cover and a certificate of authenticity accompany this exclusive motorcycle. A hell of a nice tool for the few rich amateurs who will break the bank. Or for those who could not afford cousin F4 Claudio. This Italian stunner should be produced in 250 copies (to be confirmed).
