Big names often team up to exchange ideas or make beautiful alliances. In our small motorcycle microcosm, MV-Agusta enjoys socializing, standing out and showing off with the upscale representatives of luxury and grandeur. Limited editions like the Brutales Wally, Hydrogen, or even Italia make us drool as much as they pulverize the wallet.

With the JeanRichard collection, MV-Agusta signs a beautifully crafted and reciprocal partnership. Why with JeanRichard? And first of all, who is it ?

We are in 1665, in the municipal territory of Sagne. This is where a true boss of Jura watchmakers was born: Daniel JeanRichard. Legend has it that young Daniel, then an apprentice blacksmith, had the opportunity to see a watch brought back from England for the first time in his 15th birthday. Daniel studied it, repaired it and set about making a similar one. A year later, he signed his first watch, the first made in the region. It is established that, in addition to the manufacture of the first watches, watchmakers owe him the invention of machines and tools fundamental to the profession..

The story is told. And why did you choose this prestigious Swiss watch brand? Well, what better than high precision watches as a sponsor to try to break a speed record on the Bonneville Salt Lake in the States … On the first day, MV rider Agusta Rosey Lackey set a new FIM record with a speed of 308.5 km / h, with the new MV-Agusta Brutale Chronoscope on its handle. Record resumed 5 days later, but the Italian team had to postpone its testing for the 2009 edition because of the capricious weather. The team intends to come back to re-conquer next year.

Now, finally, let’s talk about this actual partnership. From the watchmaker’s side, 2 special editions of the Chronoscope will be marketed: 1 series of 290 rubber and pink gold pieces at € 13,100, 1 series of 1078 rubber and titanium pieces at € 8,950. The 290 corresponds to the speed limit of the Brutale, the 1078 refers to the displacement of the roadster.
On the MV side, a special series in the colors of the chronograph brand will be available on the basis of the Brutale 1078 RR. Adorned with a coffee decoration with creamy voluptuousness, sober and the most beautiful effect, the bike tends towards high-ranking elegance while its large 4 cylinders only require to unsolder the counters and hands. With its trellis frame, its big inverted fork, its pedigree equipment and its big gniak reinforced with 154 fiery horses, the Brutale Jean Richard has something to bewitch the pilots as the inhabitants of Monaco … provided that the series is produced a day, which seems more than compromised. Apart from the copy seen at the Milan Motor Show 2008, no Brutale 1078 RR JeanRichard has yet left Varese. Case to follow…
