MV-Agusta BRUTALE 989 R 2008

Menus

Replacing the 910 R, the Brutale 989 could almost be considered the entry-level roadster at MV-Agusta. Displayed at 3,000 euros less than the big brother 1078, the 989 R is however far from presenting itself as a roadster at a discount. Already, by taking up the torch of the 910, its stripes of nobility and brutality have already been acquired. Then, at more than 15,000 euros the end, we play in the VIP category of streetfighters. Finally, the very marked character of Italian mechanics gives you plenty of quiche, with or without warning. Already not stingy with violence, the 4-cylinder of the 910 R took a few cm3 (an additional 3 mm of bore to announce 982.3 cm3 or 83 more), half a dozen horsepower and a little torque. A lot of fun, even more, especially as the chassis has the answer: very rigid tubular trellis frame, large inverted 50 mm fork, radial brake calipers, the superb and unavoidable single-spoke of the F4, the double exhaust bevelled with a surly and captivating sound…. What remains for the Brutale 1078 to make a difference and justify its elitist tariff? 13 more horses and more racing equipment: removable gearbox, monobloc brake calipers, suspensions and clutch of the hypersportive F4 312 RR 1078.
