New motorcycle: the Triumph Street Triple 800 surprise in Spain
To counter the offensive led by the MT-09, Triumph is preparing to boost its Street Triple from 675 to 800cc. This new 2017 motorcycle will also be available in four more or less equipped versions: standard and R as currently, but also RT and RS which have road ambitions. To counter the offensive led by the, Triumph is preparing to. This new 2017 motorcycle will also be available in four more or less equipped versions: standard and R as currently, but also which have road ambitions. The first stolen photo of this motorcycle is already circulating on the web…
In this shot "stolen" by MCN, the new Street Triple exhibits a new openwork swing arm, optics topped with a windshield similar to those of the Speed Triple 2016 but also large grab handles, in line with the choice of Triumph to now want to hunt on several terrains with his star roadster.
Note the silencer outlet in the form of a basic pipe in the low position: obviously, the Hinckley firm is still working on the exhaust, perhaps as much for aesthetic as technical reasons for this Euro4 homologated motorcycle..
Cycle part level, like, the standard model carries a non-adjustable Kayaba fork and Nissin axially mounted calipers, while the others inherit more high-end suspensions (Showa or Ohlins depending on the version) and monobloc calipers with radial mounting (Nissin or Brembo depending on the version).
Let us recall that the engine of this novelty 2017 is new: Triumph did not a priori be satisfied with providing it with the 3-cylinder Tiger 800. And that’s good, as it is a pleasure for a road bike but not punchy enough for a sporty roadster.
Derived from the current block of 675 cc, this "3-legged" develops a power greater than 100 ch, the value of which varies according to the versions: 110 ch for the standard, 115 for the R and 125 for the RT and RS. The standard version receives a classic LCD display, while the other three opt for TFT matrix instrumentation.
Finally, Triumph has chosen to install different driving modes depending on the model: the standard Street Triple 800 does not have one, the R and RT receive three and the RS has five different modes. To be continued on MNC: stay connected !
