New Honda 2018: a CBR600RR with the MotoGP "R" s ?

Honda is preparing a new version of its Supersport? This is what the Japanese magazine Young Machine claims, the latest issue of which features what could be the future rival of the recent R6: a CBR600RR with the look of RCV-213V-S….

Could the success of the competition with Lucas Mahias at the start of the season, then in dealerships around the world (French sales to watch in the) could it encourage its great rival Honda to renew its ?

This is what our colleagues at Young Machine think they know, exhibiting on the front page of their latest issue – dated June 6, 2017, these Japanese people are always one step ahead! – a sacred "scoop": the future CBR600RR which, like its rival Yamaha, would be inspired by MotoGP !

As we can see on the Japanese photomontage (not bad!), The sporty Honda of average displacement would trade its large American muscle-car optics against the thin rows of LEDs similar to those which equip the prestigious .

Already common to both models, the pot under the saddle would be kept on the small CBR (2018?) In order to confirm the family link … while the is equipped with a more traditional exhaust placed on the right side. ? Why not !

Site has unfortunately not put the glove on the magazine and can not say if technical data was leaked. Apart from the inevitable and copious electronic update, we can expect that the Tokyo firm is content, like its neighbor from Iwata, slight alterations on the cycle part and a simple upgrade to standards engine power (599 cc, 120 hp and 66 Nm in).

In doing so, Honda would avoid astronomical research and development costs, would agree not to – too much – increase the customer’s bill and would manage not to cut corners on its subsidiaries and networks. So would everyone be happy? Case to follow on MNC.

A track that would seem, according to us European bikers, more interesting for Honda given the excellent health of the neo-retro segment in our market … and the small form of the Supersport.
