At first glance, Suzuki decided to keep it simple and efficient: the Japanese will confirm this to us in a week during its official presentation, but it’s a safe bet that the frame, the suspensions and the brakes of this "new" V- Strom have changed very little.
We can already see that the new V Strom will offer a slightly higher seat (835 mm saddle height against 820 mm) and a smaller tank (20 liters against 22). The overall length remains unchanged (2,290 mm) but the wheelbase is a little higher (1,560 mm against 1,540), as is the ground clearance (175 mm on the new one against 165 on the current one): see technical sheet below.
Engine side, no change since the new crankcases do not hide the good old twin cylinder block of the SV. It remains to be seen to what extent the engineers have improved, from an electronic and / or mechanical point of view, the 2011 (2012?) Version of the Hamamatsu trail..
No revolution on the aesthetic side either with a small facelift of the double optics, a redesigned windscreen, a new two-tone tank and new "Gladius Touch" radiator scoops which find their echo on the rear fairing. The identity of the V-Strom is therefore preserved.
Let us hope that its road qualities and its competitive price will also remain as it is … Test to be followed on Site: stay connected !
