Ducati went for the first time in its history to the Sturgis Rally (United States). To mark the occasion, the Bologna brand asked the preparer Roland Sands to modify one of its new XDiavels. Here is the result in video and photos.

Moto Guzzi was not the only Italian motorcycle brand to take part in the 76th Sturgis Rally last week (read). Ducati was also present, for the very first time, to promote its new XDiavel.

"Presented in 2016, the joint two worlds", recalls the manufacturer:"that of the American cruiser with high torque from low revs, with footrests placed forward for long trips, and that of Ducati and Italian styling, refined engineering, unmatched performance and the adrenaline of driving athletic".

"The reaction to our presence here has been exceptionally welcoming."says Jason Chinnock, CEO of Ducati North America. Logical, since"the passion for two wheels, twin cylinders and beautiful roads is shared by everyone in this gathering" !

To ensure maximum visibility with half a million visitors (!), The Bologna brand has entrusted Roland Sands with a copy of its "power cruiser". The Californian preparer was thus able to bring an American touch to the Italian beast..

The XDiavel is in the details

"We really wanted to embrace all this fabulous technology and not mess it up by modifying it.", explains Mister Sands whose new preparation"therefore remains very "stock" from a functional point of view".

Developed in three months in the Los Alamitos workshop (California, USA), the Italian-American motorcycle differs from the original model by its in-house tank-trim set, a 19-inch front wheel, RSD (Roland Sands) exhausts Design, of course) and a host of small accessories … available in the Ducati catalog !

XDiavel owners can mount on their own machine the tank cap – without a key, it may be done in the United States but less in France … -, belt covers and protections of all kinds, handlebar ends or plugs frame and brake and clutch fluid reservoirs present on the RSD preparation (see video and photos on next page).
