Yamaha XSR 700 Grasshopper by Hookie Co

Custom twin with flat-track ambitions

The Hookie Co Moto Design Company is passionate about building unique items. For the yard built program, the Dresden-based company built a flat tracker from the XSR 700.

D.he Grasshopper conversion by the eight-man team from Dresden is inspired by the straight lines of the MX bikes and details from the flat track area. Accordingly, the conversion is rolling on 17-inch cast rims, which are fitted with roughly profiled MT60 tires from the Pirelli shelf. Modifications to the frame or chassis were not made.

Aluminum and acrylic

That’s why the XSR 700 focused on the optics. The new tank as well as the entire bench substructure were made by hand from aluminum. The seat cushion itself is covered with waterproof Alcantara. A mounting plate allows attachment to the original holding points. The front of the XSR 700 was completed with a hand-made aluminum lamp mask – the highlight is that this component is only pushed over the standpipes and does not require any screwing. A 7-inch LED round headlight was integrated.

Yamaha

The XSR 700 from Hookie Co Moto Design Company has mainly been optically revised.

The developers paid particular attention to the new rear light, which is made up of orange fluorescent acrylic sheets. The two cover plates on the tank, under which the on-board electronics are visibly housed, were made from the same material. The integrated turn signals also provide interior lighting for the panels. The conversion is rounded off with an exhaust system from SC Project and levers from Gilles, a Motogadget instrument and hanging rear-view mirrors.
