The most bellissima ?
It is at home, in Italy, that MV Agusta and Cagiva have chosen to present their new 2008 models. Side large cubes, a new F4 and three Brutales make their appearance while at the specialist of 125, a new Mito is born.. Avanti !
Next to the Site stand during the last Paris Motor Show, MV Agusta’s stand exhibited the very recent F4 R 312 but also the concept of Yacouba Galle, the "Bestiale" (read)
Back in Italy, the manufacturer of Schiranna presented at the Milan Motor Show three new 2008 “very own” models: the F4 RR 312 and the Brutale 989R and 1078 RR, with the added bonus of a “Hydrogen” model. For its part, Cagiva unveiled its new Mito dedicated exclusively to competition: the SP 525…
An R of CC
For its latest sporty model, the small Italian manufacturer installed on its F4 R 312 the exceptional engine of the F4 CC – CC for "Claudio Castiglioni", president of MV Agusta to whom we owe this model at 100,000 € -, its Brembo monobloc front brakes and Sachs rear shock absorber. MV Agusta thus gives birth to the F4 RR 312.
The new F4 will therefore benefit from the performance of the 1078 cc 4-cylinder engine – maximum power of 190 horsepower, maximum torque of 124 Nm – and will be equipped with the extractable gearbox. The tinted screen is also borrowed from the CC while the price is unknown today … But better to save now !
Brutal 989R
Started in 2002 with the illustrious 750 S, the Brutale series will welcome two new models in 2008 and yet another limited series.
First, the 910R will be replaced in 2008 by the Brutale 989R. This model is aimed primarily at those who consider the S4R, Speed Triple or K 1200 R too common, who do not even want to hear about the FZ1 or Z1000 crossed on every corner … and who have a well-stocked piggy bank. !
Better equipped than the 910S which remains in the 2008 catalog, the 989R wishes to remain "affordable" by equipping itself with noble parts but not extreme so far, like its radial-mounted brakes but not "monoblocks".
Still, the 982 cc inline 4-cylinder engine developing 141 horsepower, the trellis frame, the solid single-sided arm, the star rims and the Tamburini pencil line has a price … unknown for the moment.
"The best of the best"
For the lucky ones who can "spend lavishly", MV Agusta will also offer the Brutale 1078RR, which the Italian manufacturer considers to be "the best of the best".
Spiking the F4 RR 312 with its 1078cc engine, the new Brutale promises a maximum power of 154 horsepower and a maximum torque of 117 Nm. And the roadster does not stop there, since it also inherits the suspensions, brakes and system 312 RR anti-slip clutch !
Elected "most beautiful motorcycle"ahead of the Ducati Mostro 696 and the BMW HP2 Sport by a survey of our colleagues from Motociclismo among visitors to the Milan Motor Show, the Brutale 1078 RR stands out as the symbol of Italian know-how…
Brutale Hydrogen: fashion victim
No, MV Agusta is not about to release a hydrogen-powered motorcycle, but a final limited series of its Brutale 910 R in partnership with the "trendy and luxurious" sportswear brand Hydrogen! 100 copies will soon be on sale.
Mito SP 525
Unveiled in the presence of the great Giacomo Agostini, the new Mito is a tribute to the 500 Grand Prix. And in its red livery intended for the track, decked out with the n ° 11, it is dedicated to the American John Kocinski who took 3rd place in the world championship on his handlebars in 1994.
The SP 525 differs from the 125 by a completely revised look inspired by its illustrious GP ancestor, but also by increased performance since Cagiva announces that it has exceeded the 37 horsepower mark and equips its new 125 with a fully rear shock absorber. adjustable.
On the other hand, it retains the all-aluminum frame and swingarm, the forged alloy rims, the 40 mm Marzocchi fork and the fact that Valentino Rossi himself won his first National Sport Production title on Cagiva Mito in 1994! A shocking argument to appease young bikers…
