Discovered at the show, the first manufactured by SWM, new road motorcycles produced by this Italian brand relaunched two years ago, are about to land in dealerships. Powered by a 445.3 cc single cylinder, this Scrambler and Cafe Racer will be priced at "€ 5690" and "€ 5960" respectively, announces the importer in France (DIP).

SWM: look in the retro 

Speedy Working Motorcycles (SWM) is a small Italian manufacturer famous for its off-road motorcycles, whose activity spanned from 1971 to 1984. Despite this brief existence, this brand based in Vimercate (Lombardy) has had time to play at the forefront, especially in trials with a world title won by Gilles Burgat in 1981.

30 years after his death, SWM is i – former engineer at Aprilia, Husqvarna and Cagiva – thanks to the capital of a Chinese partner, the Shineray group.

This important Asian manufacturer is not exactly unknown in France, since it is from Shineray motorcycles – modified according to one – that the .

SWM’s headquarters and production plant are now located in Varese, north of Milan (Italy), in a former Husqvarna factory left vacant following the. True to its roots, Speedy Working Motorcycles first unveiled enduro, trail and supermoto motorcycles, which now range from 125 to 600 c.

Milan show the Silver Vase 440 and Gran Milano 440, two brand new road bikes driven by a 445.3 cc single-cylinder, partly derived from a Husqvarna engine. All reworked and rebored by Ampelio Macchi who knows this air-oil-cooled mill perfectly.. 

Mash Five Hundred 400 – real trompe l’oeil in terms of architecture (at first glance, some may confuse it with a vertical twin)…

The Super Dual trail in the near future

Decidedly very dynamic since its relaunch, SWM presented another motorcycle at the last show in Milan: the Super Dual. Designed on the basis of the RS 650 R enduro discovered in 2014, this road trail is versatile with its 19-liter tank, its windshield, its protections (hands and engine) and its optional luggage.

The engine is a 600 cc single cylinder while the suspensions are Marzocchi at the front and Sachs at the rear.

Rather attractive, this Super Dual with a 21 inch front wheel and notched tires could overshadow much heavier "maxi-trails" with its 159 kg announced without gasoline !

The possible release date in France and the price of this new motorcycle with final chain transmission are not yet known..
