Paris-Dunkerque - Paris-Dunkirk experienced from the inside in a Suzuki DL 650 V-Strom - Day 3, May 24: Bertangles - Dunkirk

On the handlebars of his faithful Suzuki DL 650 V-Strom, our collaborator Marcos Poidebard tells us about his Paris-Dunkirk: three days of mud, paths, landscapes and encounters that will remain etched in his memory forever…. Story, photos and video.

3rd day, May 24: Bertangles – Dunkirk

As in any self-respecting farm, there are roosters and chickens everywhere … They started to invade the tents at 5am! I hope they will serve us coq au vin for breakfast but no, it will be more classic…

Briefing at 10am (we would therefore have had the right to sleep in without the cacophony of poultry). Our arrival is not expected in Dunkirk before 5 p.m. The oil seals on the two forks of my V-Strom are no longer doing their job and causing an oil leak.

On this third and last day, a father and his son only wishing to do one day of the adventure course join our group. Jean-Louis is there, his Africa Twin restored to working order, and still Romain and Cyril. And Tony in V-Strom, a colleague, finally !

After a bad fall in the extreme course, Tony decided to join us in the adventure course. He felt every hole in the path pass between his ribs…

This third stage, quieter and with much more paved paths, allowed us to rest and take some pictures. This easier path did not prevent us from making a few falls in the ruts.

We all had lunch together in a restaurant on the national road. Personally, I would have preferred to have a picnic in the forest, but I agreed with the majority opinion.
