At Eicma 2019, Peugeot presented the Metropolis RS Concept, on which the new three-wheel scooter is based.

Scooters for drivers now with Euro 5
Seven years after its market launch, the Peugeot Metropolis three-wheel scooter is getting a design refresh and a Euro 5 update. It will be available from September from 9,199 euros. He can now also connect to smartphones.
A more distinctive look, with stylized claws on the rear and fangs in the front in the light signature, should form the design bridge to the Peugeot logo – the lion. The production of the new M.etropolis is already running – in the French plant in Mandeure. The new three-wheel scooter will then come onto the market in autumn.
Emergency braking automatically activates hazard warning lights
The new Peugeot Metropolis is based on the Peugeot Metropolis RS Concept, which was presented at EICMA 2019. For the visual refreshment, the Peugeot Metropolis is based on the new brand DNA of the car manufacturer: daytime running lights in saber-tooth design, which already distinguish the Peugeot 508, and the LED lights in the form of three claws at the rear. They are based on the design of the Peugeot Instinct concept vehicle. The hazard warning lights that come on automatically in the event of emergency braking are also inspired by the automotive sector.
Connectivity on the Peugeot Metropolis
With the new connectivity system i-Connect and the app "Peugeot Motocycles" the Peugeot Metropolis can be connected to the smartphone. The functions of the i-Connect are controlled via the color screen in the cockpit display. In this way, a route can be set before the journey, which is then shown on the scooter’s display. If the Peugeot Metropolis brakes more than six m / s at a speed of over 50 km / h, the emergency braking system activates the hazard warning lights. This makes the scooter even more visible to other road users. When the deceleration falls below two m / s again, the hazard warning lights switch off again automatically. The traction control is also new and comprises three modes: Urban, Sport and Traction off.
Can be driven with a driver’s license
The Peugeot Metropolis aims to combine the agility of a scooter with the stability of a tricycle. The 400 cm³ engine was homologated to Euro 5. In addition, the tricycle can be driven with a driver’s license and will be available from authorized Peugeot dealers from September 2020. The 399 cc single cylinder of the new Peugeot Metropolis continues to provide 36 hp at 7,250 / min and 38 Nm maximum torque at 5,750 / min and reaches its top speed at 135 km / h. It should consume 3.9 liters per 100 kilometers. In the tank, like its predecessor, 13.5 liters of fuel fit. According to Peugeot, this results in a range of around 300 kilometers. The seat height is 780 millimeters, the tire sizes 2 x 110 / 70-13 and 140 / 70-14, the wheelbase is 1,500 millimeters. The new Peugeot Metropolis weighs in at 271 kilograms, while its predecessor was slightly lighter at 265 kilograms.
Prices and colors Peugeot Metropolis
In the Allure version, the Peugeot Metropolis also has a trunk mat, chrome-plated handlebar ends, USB connection, black, glossy rims, a cockpit display with i-Connect function and a premium mirror. In this version the roller is available in four colors: Snow White Metallic, Midnight Blue Metallic, Sideral Mat Black and Amazonite Satin Blue. The cheaper Active version is available in Varnish Technium Metallic. Peugeot Metropolis 400 Active: from 9,199 euros; Peugeot Metropolis 400 Allure: from 10,199 euros.
Conclusion
The fact that a non-four-wheeled vehicle with a displacement of 400 cm³ can be driven with a car driver’s license has so far been the most quick-witted argument of the Peugeot Metropolis. Now there is a refreshed look, a smart app and Euro 5 homologation. And by the way: That Peugeot the top case as "Trunk" titled, with a capacity of 47 liters is okay in our opinion.
