Romp, rage, race – without regrets. As tuned as the MV Agusta F3 800 from Micron, bolting is great fun on the racetrack. Not every lever has to be perfect.

Like the chassis, the steering damper is from Mupo, the lap timer comes from PZ-Racing.

The cascading funnels work in a similar way to variable funnel lengths. Depending on the suction speed, the air flows in more or less via the lower or upper funnel.

More poison thanks to the electronics treatment

Content of

Fortunately for all friends of the combustion engine, the tightened Micron MV Agusta F3 800 has nothing to do with e-bikes. But after a good electronic cure, the F3 800 darts even more poisonously over the slope.

A.The project was definitely limited by Micron Systems boss Armand Mottier. As soon as MVs were delivered with the triple expanded to 800 cubic meters, the Furth tuner got one of them and registered the Micron MV Agusta F3 800 for PS-TunerGP. That was almost two weeks before the test lights turned green in Hockenheim. This MV is already a fine sport bike out of the box, but in order to pass as a real racer on the GP circuit, a little more had to happen.

More poison thanks to the electronics treatment

7 HP more compared to the best series F3 800

It is understandable that the engine tuning was mechanically not too lavish in view of the short preparation time. Nevertheless, the result was seven more horsepower than the best series F3 800 we measured. Which is mainly due to the beguilingly brutal sounding Scorpion RP1 GP exhaust system without Kat, and of course the tuning of the Micron-MV Agusta F3 800.

This is exactly where Mottier’s great tuner achievement lies. The vote was simply the best. The hard throttle response that we denounced, especially on the first series machines, was like magic on the Micron-MV Agusta F3 800.

Something like this could otherwise have quickly led to frustration with the throttle grip, which was a little too easy on the Micron bike. Now, however, the Micron MV Agusta F3 800 rushes resolutely, but not too abruptly when applying gas, does not know the subdued temperament of the series at medium speeds and pulls through cleanly up to peak performance.

The mottier was successful with a Power Commander V, which consists of two modules. The upper injection rail is controlled via the “Secondary Fuel Module” from 6300 rpm and the fuel is injected exclusively through the upper rail through the cascading intake funnel. The modified airbox with racing air filter supplies additional oxygen. Everything finely tuned to one another on the test bench, the Micron MV Agusta F3 800 is now showing its true potential – and that is still huge enough below the 1000 superbikes.

MOTORCYCLE market: Used MV Agusta F3 800

Micron-MV Agusta F3 800 with Grip One Pro 3 traction control

The second highlight on the Micron-MV Agusta F3 800 is the Grip One Pro 3 traction control, which was used instead of the series TC, which is controlled purely by speed and is therefore somewhat crude for real racing. Wheel and inertia sensors now provide the data for a finely tuned TC. The last electronic gimmick is the PZ racing lap timer, which also provides data for data recording via GPS.

One more thing about the brakes: Production levers and pumps may not be the state of the art on a racing bike, but the braking effect of the production calipers with the Brembo Z04 pads was perfectly adequate. If Armand Mottier had had more time for the MV, the details would certainly have been more exclusive. But where it really mattered, he impressively demonstrated his skills, especially as a tuning expert, with the Micron MV Agusta F3 800.
