MV Agusta Rush 1000

Production of the Rush will begin in June 2020

New items 2020

The MV Agusta Rush 1000 was presented along with a few other models at EICMA 2019. With a little delay, production of the naked bike is set to start in June 2020. The market launch was actually planned for early 2020.

At EICMA 2019 in Milan M.V Agusta presented the Rush 1000 for the first time. The naked bike is based on the Brutale 1000 RR. MV Agusta primarily worked on the look of the bike. A round LED headlight is used at the front. In addition, attentive observers should probably first notice the rear wheel rim, which comes with a large disc design. The number 04 and a Rush lettering can be seen on the outside. A multi-part Kineo rim was installed at the front.

The USD fork comes from Ohlins, the brake system from Brembo and the exhaust system, on which the Rush logo is shown, from SC Project. Otherwise the paintwork is mostly black. There are also red and golden brown color elements. Technically, the Rush 1000 does not seem to differ from the Brutale 1000 otherwise. A price for Europe has also been announced: the new bike will cost 34,000 euros (plus ancillary costs). Originally, the Rush was supposed to roll out to dealers in May 2020. However, this date has now been delayed. According to MV Agusta, production of the Rush is now to begin in June 2020 and the first pre-orderers are to be supplied very soon.

SCS coupling system also for Dragster and Brutale

MV Agusta launched the Turismo Veloce 800 Lusso SCS in the summer of 2018. SCS stood for an electronically controlled centrifugal clutch in combination with a mechanical transmission. This enabled MV pilots to start and stop without having to pull the clutch. The centrifugal clutch system works in a similar way to a motor scooter: when accelerating, the SCS automatically ensures a smooth grip from a certain speed when the gear is engaged. In contrast to an automatic converter or a dual clutch transmission, the MV Agusta system does not change gears automatically. The driver is still in demand here.

For the new model year, the SCS coupling system is available in the Dragster 800 RR SCS and Brutale 800 RR SCS models. According to MV Agusta, the additional weight compared to the conventional clutch should be a negligible 36 grams. However, prices have not yet been announced.

Rosso models with 110 hp

This also applies to the new Rosso models, which MV Agusta wants to see as inexpensive entry-level variants without the MV myth suffering from it. The new Rosso range, which will largely correspond to the standard versions, will include the Brutale 800, Dragster 800 and Turismo Veloce 800 models.

As the name suggests, these models are only available in red. In addition, the wheels are no longer turned for a special finish. What other measures the Italians want to lower the price has not yet been revealed. The well-known 798 cm³ in-line three-cylinder in the version with 110 hp and 83 Nm torque is installed in all Rosso models.

Superveloce 800 and Brutale 1000 RR in normal versions

Also new in the portfolio for 2020 is a standard version of the super sports car MV Agusta Superveloce 800, which was previously only available as a sinfully expensive D’Oro version. The super sports car relies on the 800 series three-cylinder with 148 hp and 88 Nm torque. The 208 hp and 116 Nm strong naked bike Brutale 1000 RR will also be launched as a series.
