Limited cafe racer

With the Yamaha XSR 900 Abarth, an offshoot of the XSR 900 will be presented at the EICMA 2016 in the popular sports heritage dress, which was designed in collaboration with the well-known Italian automobile tuner.

Abarth, you read that right. The automobile manufacturer and tuner, which we know in Germany mainly in combination with Fiat, cooperated with Yamaha. Out came the Yamaha XSR 900 Abarth with cafe racer-typical low clip-ons and single seat cushion.

Front paneling, fenders and seat cover made of carbon, titanium slip-on from Akrapovic, suede seat and the paintwork already indicate: the Yamaha XSR 900 Abarth does not want to be a volume model, but something special. It will, because its number is limited to 695.

850 cc three-cylinder, traction control and anti-hopping clutch

Each copy has a production number on the side. The sale is inevitable. We already know that from Yamaha. Do you remember? When the first Yamaha MT-09s were delivered in 2013, bottlenecks quickly arose.

Yamaha couldn’t keep up with production. Well, in this case the sell-out is intended. And realistic. Because the heart is as well known as it is desired: the 850 cc three-cylinder. Also on board: traction control and an anti-hopping clutch.

The first 95 Yamaha XSR 900 Abarth can be registered online at www.xsr900-abarth.eu. The registration system will be activated on January 17, 2017 at 2 p.m. The first 95 customers can then register to order an XSR 900 Abarth and are invited to a VIP event. The remaining 600 Yamaha XSR 900 Abarth should then be available to order from Yamaha dealers in April 2017. And if that’s still not individual and special enough, you can stock up on Genuine accessories for the Abarth-Yamaha and Faster Sons clothes.

Abarth, on the other hand, makes a splash and puts a Fiat 500 under the sign of the scorpion alongside the Yamaha XSR 900 Abarth. The concept is called Abarth 695 Tributo XSR and also comes with carbon parts and an Akrapovic exhaust system.
