Conversion kit for the Yamaha YZF-R3
From athlete to cafe racer
Have you always wanted a Yamaha YZF-R3 with a more classic retro look? GG Retrofitz from California supplies a suitable conversion kit with which the athlete can be transformed into a cafe racer.
Most buyers of the YZF-R3 know exactly what they want: a sporty motorcycle with a racing look for a more or less affordable price. If you are less into the supersport look, Yamaha offers another alternative with the MT-03 with almost 300 cm³. Now there is another variation that is more dedicated to retro fans. However, this is not an official Yamaha solution. A young startup company called GG Retrofitz from California has set itself the goal of turning the sporty YZF-R3 into a chic Cafe Racer.
Customization options available
The conversion kit can be easily customized. In addition to a standard version, which is kept in white, there are three more "Graphic kits", which are a little more noticeable. The white, blue and red versions are particularly appealing at first glance. It is also possible to integrate a number on the cladding.

The standard version costs 1,198 US dollars.
The conversion kit, which is also called "Rocket Street" is listed on the manufacturer’s website, can be applied to the Yamaha YZF-R3 from model years 2015 to 2018. Incidentally, the conversion kit consists of a windshield, the individual paneling parts, the tank cover and the appropriate tools for assembly. The headlight is not included in the scope of delivery and must be purchased separately. The Californians charge 1,198 US dollars for the standard version. A surcharge of 258 or 298 US dollars is due for the graphic variants.
One question remains: is delivery to Europe also possible? And if so, what is the price difference? In the official shop, the delivery options USA, Australia and Japan can be selected during the ordering process. Unfortunately, Europe is missing from the list. It is quite possible that this will change in the future.
