Fibrillation is different. You don’t have to use a pacemaker right away when the new Diversion shows up. The sight of them doesn’t knock you out of your pines. Solid forms, muted colors. No accumulation of headlights requiring a gun license, no design mountains at the rear. There’s nothing really exciting about that. You see these 600s for the first time, you think: I know them. You stretch yourself relaxed between the handlebars and the rest, you feel: I’ve already been here. You turn the key, unlock the gas and know that you are home. Arrived, finally ?? on a motorcycle that works exactly as God once thought it would: without risks, without side effects. A good mood guaranteed when taking the first turns. After the nude version, which we sang about in the top test (MOTORRAD 6/2009), now the song of praise for the covered XJ6 Diversion. With the same technical characteristics: four cylinders, 78 HP rated power, steel bridge frame, steel swing arm, aluminum wheels, optional ABS. There is, of course, a small difference in weight: five kilograms. Not all of them pose as posh wind protection around the front, no, there is also a main stand that the ordinary XJ6 has to do without.

If anyone is dying to find out how the aerodynamic advantages of the casing affect the performance, he should give the hell a damn. Completely wrong address, sports friend! The place after the comma is not of interest here. We’re talking about the big picture, about the joy of life on two wheels itself. And that has damn little to do with hundredths? when an engine basically goes. And it goes well, the lavishly backwards-tuned R6 Rennerles engine. Starts full of energy, runs super smooth, pulls ?? completely irrelevant in which gear? from the deep black to the red area, where it is stopped by the limiter shortly before 13,000 revolutions. At this point, we express our full condolences to owners of a radically stalled 78 hp FZ6. And bye, dear ones! It can happen that the diversion kidnaps you one to two, three hundred kilometers, even though only one round to get tobacco was actually indicated. But the sky shines so temptingly blue, the meadows shimmer so beautifully green, and the temptress prances so lightly, so sure-footed, so happily going off. Just take you with me…
Although in principle she doesn’t need you at all. Turns at the right angle by itself, finds its line automatically and stays in time even on the worst of floors. Handling and coordination of the meticulously balanced chassis are suitable for every occasion, the brakes do not raise any questions. That’s why you can see so much sky, meadows and everything else. For hours: the seating position and furniture speak as little against it as the range. For a Christian overland trip, the lights up after about 290 kilometers “Forget-not-to-refuel lamp” on, really serious ?? s 60, 70 kilometers later. And if you have to hurry home in the middle of the night, the cladding drills a nicely lit channel through the wind. Up to top speed ?? that is 205 km / h ?? almost nothing twitches at man and machine. Manoeuvrable in small and small businesses, comfortable on long trains, almost virtuoso in a fast solo and not to be disconcerted with accompaniment: you have to dig very deep to want to add something to the diversion. You can hook on the gearbox, which reacts bulky to downshifts, unfortunately there is no hook for luggage. In contrast, the fine vibrations in the pegs, handlebar ends and seat could be dispensed with? Incidentally, the only thing that reminds you of the old Diversion. It had 50 hp and in the end, in 2003, cost 5640 euros. Today with ABS 6895 flakes are due and without ?? What Yamaha had not planned for Germany? 6350. This is not a recommended retail price, but a tough challenge to the undercover competition.
